One of, if not the greatest of English guitar players died today after a battle with cancer. Sad sad day for me - it was him amd John Renbourn and Nick Drake that made me want to pick up the guitar and force some sort of sounds out of it. He realy towered over the English guitar scene influencing everyone from Clapton and Page to a host of folk musicians. Jimmy Page borrowed hugely from Berts version of Blackwaterside when he did Black mountain side. I'm gutted.
