Bobby Robson has passed away.
Sad, sad day, not just for us up here I think but for anyone interested in Sport. A truly great man, pleased we all got to say goodbye at the charity match last week, he looked very frail then, bless him, but as always he went the extra mile to please the fans and for his charity. He will be sadly missed.

I'll never forget the 5+ minute standing ovation he got at 'sports personality of the year' 2 or 3 years ago when picking up the Lifetime achievement award. Never seen so much adulation from the crowd before, clearly the man was dearly loved and respected by all those he'd worked with.

I worked an newcastle united for about 5 years and i had the honour of meeting him and talking to him a number of times, my dad also spent 6 hours on a plane sitting besite him and talking with him, we both agree that not only was he and increabile nice person, he was genuiely intresting and never once did he ever put a person down or turn away from you for talking football at him. He turly was a gentleman and a lovly person. Yesterday was a very very sad day.
