I've been told DL'ding from Amazon won't count towards the charts. Play, 7Digital and iTunes are all valid.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/tag/mp3/forum?cdThread=Tx3U7MN4WDHUQUA

Someone from Amazon Music Teamrently(apparently) says they do and having checked Rock Radio's site who are obviously backing the bid they list it as well, although there is some confusion about the price making it invalid it would appear.

It's this bit of the rules that are the issue for people

3. Digital Minimum Dealer Price 0.40p : Only tracks with a minimum PPD of 40 pence or more shall be eligible for the Official Singles Chart. In the event that a record company has an alternative business model for the sale of downloads (i.e., one not based on a published dealer price), the price charged to the online digital retailer should not be less than 32 pence per track. OCC will monitor sales to ensure they are 'genuine sales'. Where OCC judges sales not to be genuine, they may be excluded from the chart at OCC's absolute discretion.

I think Amazon are taking the hit of (at least) 11p per track but have bought the track from the dealer at the required amount. They are also selling the X-Factor track at 29p.

It's all to do with the price the retailers pay for it, not the consumer, so Amazon DO count apparently.

Cowell attacked the "musical snobs" who are gangning up against Joe."You have a teenager with his first single being attacked by a huge hate mob on Facebook. It almost feels like a little kid being bullied.

"It feels like a spiteful campaign aimed at an 18-year-old who won a talent competition," he told The Sun.Meanwhile fellow X Factor judge Cheryl Cole criticised the ''mean campaign'' threatening to keep her protege off the Christmas number one spot.

The Girls Aloud star, who worked with her fellow Geordie on The X Factor, said she hoped his song, The Climb, he beats Rage Against The Machine (RATM) in the race for the top of the charts.

ROFLOL. Fuck off Cowell and a particularly heartfelt fuck off to that stupid cow Cheryl Cole. She really gets on my nerves. Her head has now joined her husband in being firmly stuck up their respective arses.

Fact is people are sick of listening to wanky ballads from jumped up Karaoke singers. Deal with it. I REALLY hope RATM make it to number one....

I doubt Uncle Simon really gives a fuck, he wants Joe for the US market, thus the shite Disney song choice.

I think that if X-Factor still wins (which is probable) then by trying to strike down Uncle Simon we will have made him more smug than we can possibly imagine :p

Getting close now, betting changes and some apparent leaked info have RATM with it .... dum de dum :) We'll see, but over 60k for Shelter would have been worth it anyway, no matter what.

Thank god it won, there would have been an unbearable smugness on the news if it hadn't. I got my copies from itunes and amazon - and I was pretty impressed with amazon on price and the fact it auto imported the downloads into itunes for me :)

lol, thanks for that chick, entertaining reading :D

shame they deleted all the messages that didnt agree with them, but it still shows how deluded they are :p

i also find it amusing that they're saying about how killing in the name of is a song encouraging people to do horrible things, etc etc... when in fact, its a song mostly about the racism in the US police and armed forces, and how thats a bad thing :p so yeah, anti-racism messages are bad, mmkay?
