Does anyone still play?

And any mods that are must haves, I think I used to have a one that changed those little silhouettes of tanks to display more info, cant remember what it was called.

I'm not playing anymore.

XVM was fun, but nothing huge. Its also a pain to install sometimes.

There was a crosshair mod made by j1mb0 which was very very useful, might be worth using that. Or the equivalent.

I play daily for a few matches. Mainly a KV1 battle & a SU85B.

I have never used any mods, as the options/settings have enough for me to use so far, but will have a look at these posted here.

Yeh I am on at various random times grinding through an Su-85 - fecking awful TD - to get to the next one or pissing about in my almost fully souped up Su-85B. Don't use any mods, not felt the need yet like Swith.

I do wish they would get risd of the 2nd aniversary garage thing though - lags like buggery for me.

I'm guessing you mean a stock SU-85? Its not that bad :/ All of the early/mid Soviet TD's are pretty much the same thing over and over until you reach SU-152/ISU-152 and get some real firepower.

I used a simple modpack with a zoom out mod (can zoom out about twice as far, looks nice) Jimbo's crosshair/reload timer and XVM.

Dont agree Shalam mate. The SU-85b is awesome to me, and a million miles better than the 85 ( heck, I like it more than my Stug III). Granted im playing a stock 85 - its slow, cumbersome, takes an hour to turn and has a shit gun, but faced with the xp I'd need to upgrade it compared to just grinding to the next in line, I'm just biting the bullet and ploughing on through. I'll probably keep the SU-85 and fully upgrade it at some point, but I am assured that even with the best engine its still a hippo. My whole game is based on keeping away from the enemy at all costs - my TDs have no armour so I have to. The suped up SU-85B is wicked fast, turns on a sixpence and has great damage with the 85mm lb2s. I just find the 85 to be like driving a bin waggon with a pop gun mounted on it. Thank god I only need 4000 xp or so to the SU-100 but I am told that its not a lot better than the 85?

It could be that I used the 107mm on the SU-85 that makes me think it was decent. I don't remember if it got nerfed before or after I played it.

If you can live with (plan around) being unable to turn very fast then stick with it, The SU-100 is where you start to get a hint of what the rest of the line is like with the 122mm (big alpha long reload). It will be horrible grinding out the 16k for the 100mm with the 85 mm D-5S. 120 Pen vs Tier 8 heavies :( Its a good tank, definately a step above the ARL V39 (piece of shit) and JagdPz4.

If you must have the agility i'd suggest unlocking the 85 mm D-5S-85BM on the SU-85 (its a prereq to the SU-100M1 on the SU-100) so that you can use that to grind out the 48k on the SU-100 to unlock the SU-100M1 (it won't be fun). Having played both lines, I must reccomend the SU-152 route. The SU-100M1 and up are difficult to play mainly due to a lack of penetration forcing you to find bizarre TD positions in order to stay hidden while laying down flanking fire.

Cheers mate, was looking in to which line to go in to. Sounds like the 152 route has to be the plan. I don't mind a grind too much, at least its not something like WoW where I used to grind the same critters in the same spot for days on end. At least with the various maps you have some variety. Mind, being a sniper my face falls when I get put in an urban map, especially himmelsdorf - I 'm still trying to get a handle on how to play on the street :)

Yep, rolling Himmelsdorf isn't the best for a paper TD...

On standard you could try heading up the hill with the mediums, hopefully to trash any enemy tanks up there and then you can flank down the other side, snipe from the battlements or return to defend cap as needed. I'v never had any luck with the train yard.

On encounter I often feel like I don't have any choice but to go hill because thats where 90% of the team goes so I must be there to keep them from failing. Most of the time you just end up trading shells and we know how that goes with a paper td... especially when your gun relies more upon dpm instead of alpha and you are fighting around cover.

The SU-152 route is definately the fun option, once you unlock that BL-10 on the ISU-152 it's fantastic. 286 penetration and 750 average damage :hubba:. You almost feel bad when you land top tier and start one-shotting the tier 6's.

ive been mixing it up between the German TD line and the russian TD line. Having just got the SU100 Im finding it an interesting play though it doesnt seem to punch with the stock barrel.

The JGDPZR is about 15K off getting enough exp for the Jagdpanther. i like the panzer probably more than the 100 atm as ive not opened everything on the 100 curretnly.

Would it be worth making a CUK clan in WoT?

Does cost gold and some of us are in other alliances etc

I'd join a CUK clan for a bit of fun. Been playing since beta casually and have a selection of stuff, IS4, M48A1, JadgTiger, IS8, T-50-2, Tiger 2, Black Prince, Comet and some other stuff...

I'd do better if I didn't have unfortunate kamikaze tendencies... Just can't resist running in at full speed yelling :)

On as SkullPwnee, unless of course our paths have crossed and I was a Kamikaze arse who got you killed in which case ermmm, I'm someone else :)

I don't usually see anyone on when I play WoT so maybe not worth the investment m8, unless you see lots on?
