Rift Free on Steam

Might be slow to spot this but Rift is now on Steam as free to play. Is anyone still playing this? If so what server is being played on?

Tried it again recently, but TBH it still didn't grab me.

Fair dues mate. Have to give it a go but thing Path of Exile may be more interesting for a bit longer.

Installed this again for a look.

Not sure if it is worth a pop, so why did everyone move on? Too grindy or too similar to WoW?

If too similar to WoW as Rift is ftp I am wondering if it is worth playing much as I like WoW, but won't pay

cant remember why i stopped. i think it just became too grindy - but it might just be that i didnt have friends playing it, and did have friends playing wow, so went back to wow.

I have to say I am hooked

I know it is a WoW clone, but it is free and I like the feel of the world.

Not a patch on the polish of WoW or GW2, but I am having fun for a change.

Playing as a spellblade on Gelidra (sp?)

RIFT is definitely old fashioned, but I think it is filling my mmo gap right now

Anyone thinking of joining try it beyond the first 5 levels until u hit the world proper...everything is totally familiar then.

Didn't mind it and do still have it installed on Steam but I think I'm enjoying story driven FPS games at the moment, like the Bioshock series and Borderlands 2. WoW is a difficult one to stand up to for me, probably because I've not created characters that I've enjoyed playing as much, regardless of how samey the game became at times.
