Ring of Fire

Gratz to Shalam who has got through this mission and now is officially the most advanced character in the game!

I have FOUR characters stuck here now and am beginning to get a complex about it. Not least because it takes SO long to get a team going which then turns out immediately to be hopeless.

Even more frustrating because with only a handful of skill points between my four characters and 73 skills yet to capture I need to clock them through lvl20 quite a few times which means making productive use of the time available - actually playing and getting XP.

w00t Wossname's through!

First attempt today - good group at last.
In the hope that these things are like busses, I'll have a go with another char now ;)

I finished the last 2 missions after i did Ring of Fire last night, i have the feeling a PUG for them would be terrible.. alot of luring etc. I managed it with henches.

Abaddon's Mouth was fairly easy, just cleared out the fort and killed some bosses/seals etc, only hard bit was the monk boss (right beside a necro boss), that was a bit of a challenge to kill with henches. The end of mission boss was a joke!

Hell's Precipice i imagine would be terrible with real players, 90% of the time i was in combat i had -6 hp degen, theres also some new nasties :
When you kill Burning Titans, a Risen Ash Hulk spawns at level 24. When that Hulk dies it will spawn a hand and fist of the titans. There are also level 28 Risen Ash Hulks which spawn the same things when they die. Be aware of this, as three enemies can turn into a rather large problem quickly. Risen Ash Hulks are necromancers and as such, strip enchantments. Hands and Fists are warriors using axes and swords. Burning Titans are Elementalists whom will set you on fire if you stand in close proximity.
Typical groups were made up of 1 Burning Titan & 2 Risen Ash Hulks, so you have to be careful about which order you kill them in.. I found it easier to kill the burning titan and then ignore 2 Ash hulks while I dealt with 1 of them and the fist/hand that it created upon death and then repeat for each Risen ash hulk. Theres also a nasty upgraded version of imps, not nice at all, i made sure i went for them first. The end game boss was pretty easy, only annoying because you had to kill him on dead center of the alter or he came back to life, Oh and he also randomly teleports you into the lava surrounding the alter.. pain in the arse struggling out with -6hp regen and crippling.

Think iv almost capped all the elites for Fria too :) got around 10 yesterday.

Good grief! Just got Monkey Dust through. We even did the bonus!!!!

There were only FIVE of us at the end.

Just ordinarily competent players who wouldn't give up.
We were amazed we did it.

Warm feelings all round :)

Must watch Wales v New Zealand match now.

Urg.. Just made my way up to granite citadel (more luck than not). Went into Talus Chute on my way to Mineral Springs to try and find Shield of Judgement, what a joke! I couldn't even make it the short way through Talus Chute to mineral springs, groups of mobs were typically about 15 in size... no chance can i do that!

Rarr! I must admit, the mission where you can either go the long way round through the lava bits, or assault the main gate ... the frontal approach is actually easer o_O

However, you have to be sneeky about it, and draw the mobs away from the seals.

Also, tip, for when playing with henchmen and your a squishy, shift+ctrl+space calls your henchies to attack without you attacking yourself.

and if the henchies are running in to engage, and you are trying to pull, "wiggle lots" will yank the leash and normally get them to come back to you.

Will give that a try on my Monk, if it works it will be a life saver.
Managed to get up into mineral springs last night for the defend Droknar's quest, seemed like less mobs when the quest was active, pretty easy quest considering its for 20k xp (good idea making quests have xp rewards when im level 20 and have more than enough skill points.....). Didn't find the monk boss though :(

Note.. Take your sunglasses for Mineral Springs, theres some serious snow glare going on - seemed pretty painful on the eyes.

Dark Swan did mission & bonus with henchies. :)

Of course I went back to camp to see if anyone wanted a necro in their team, and after the deathly silence taunted them ;)

It's not so bad with a bit of patience really.

i heard alt+f4 makes your henchies invincible :p

Yup they'll still all be there when you get back to camp, although they may have a few questions about where you got to!
