Servers?

Hi guys,
Haven't really ventured out of the FFXI forums before, but as a old fan of BF1942, and a newish player of BFV, I was wondering if you guys have got any preferred servers to play on?

Used to playing over lan at work, but I tried a couple of the Jolt servers and was getting sub 60 pings, so I was quite impressed, though perhaps less so at some of the muppets playing (if you can't fly a chopper, stop bloody taking`em! )

Also, being a bit of a CUK newb, do you have any kind of preferred prefixes for character names when playing FPSs online? (so we can spot each other =)
e.g. <ClanUK> "name" or something?

dunno about BF1942 but in AA we use =ClanUK= prefix'ing a name... looks funky in FPS games

Jolt servers are best i reckon (for BFV that is), but u should get xfire so u can see which server ppl are in. There's a thread showing ppls xfire adresses in the action zone about a month or so back.

Tend to be using =ClanUK= tag before name. With servers we play a fair variety of them, though of course low ping ones are more appealing. I prefer ones with a player cap around 24~ as I feel it gets a bit crowded beyond that, happy playing any game though.

You really need to get hold of Xfire though, it's an instant messenger proggy which tells you what games people are playing, what server they're playing on and lets you join their game with one click. Makes organising games at least a million times easier

Had BFV sitting arround on my desk for about a week now. Never played BF1942, always been pwned to death in every other FPS I've ever played, heard these are a bit more fun and a bit more varied than the traditional "run arround like a headless chicken - get taken out by headshot - respawn - get taken out by spawn camper" type things.

I will load it up and play on some qiet servers until I'm not going to embarass you too bad, or let you pwn my ass too much.

Oh and Sanctum, depending on what you're running it on, you've always got the option to run your own local game with bots. Handy for getting used to it and practicing driving/piloting the various vehicles that're in the game. Hope to see you soon
