Anyone else pre-ordered this for xbox or getting it at all?

I am positively bouncing with anticipation :)

Just found the Morrowind expansion for PC in my cupboard....can't find Morrowind itself tho :(

According to the devs and blurb, forums etc...Skyrim is supposed to be in the spirit of Morrowind, with the best bits of Oblivion....whatever that means.

One thing I do know (and the reason I have avoided Oblivion) is the mobs do not level with you, but level more like they do in Fallout 3 which should be good :)

My Son's been desperate for this for months and it's at the top of his birthday / christmas list (both in December). Adverts for it are amazing.
Loved Arena, Daggerfall and Morrowind but never got round to playing Oblivion. Will be interested in knowing if this is worthwhile investing my life in :)

Not sure if I mucked up my character in Oblivion, but as the mobs did lv with me, I could never kill them without constantly zoning in/out or running lots (think I was magey type) gave up, and never played it again, shame as it seemed good apart from the combat!

Yup mobs leveled with the chars in oblivion....luckily they won't in Skyrim, more like the mobs in Fallout 3 apparently :)

it wasnt the mobs levelling in oblivion that fucked it.... not at all.... they just matched to be 'level appropriate' - which is fine. it was the character levelling that screwed it. It meant that the easiest way to win fights easily is to NOT be a combat character :/ have all your class skills (or whatever they were called, the 7 you pick that level faster and affect your level) be skills you'll never use, and keep them at level 1. then level up your ocmbat skills. enemies will still be based on you being level 1, while your actual combat skills are equivalent to a level 50 or whatever. very silly system, imo.

oh new trainilery thingy:

regarding ti being dull and stuff, they've decided rather than having 12,000 procedurally generated, identical dungeons, to make them by hand, and have less.

plot's supposed to be tighter, and the immensely gay levelling system has been slightly de-merlyfied.

Levelling plan thingy here:
Seems they've gone MUCH less :fullretard: than Morrowind's simply tedious system:
Maybe too generic? Maybe not:

Is the combat still utter shite (and broken)? You know the awful kitting crap - with Dumb AI that is so easy to abuse. Then midway though the game you suddenly become all powerful and everything dies in seconds!

aye - i *really* like the Fallout3 part. There is a lot of depth hidden in the game already - but it's very, very smooth and oh boy is it pretty with Ultra settings @1900:1080 res.
