Hiya
Its OHs birthday coming up soon (so close to xmas aarrggh!) and I'd really appreciate some suggestions for xbox 360 games for him.
So far we have, Fallout 3, Halo 3, Dead space and have borrowed mass effect and Gears of War.
In the past I've seen him really get into Final Fantasy type games, Everquest 1/2, Rf online, X3.
I'm not really into console gaming much, and don't really like the 'boys' games, so I thought you lot would know better than me what to get him :)
Thanks in advance
Sharra

Infinite Undiscovery, and the new one Last Remnant are Square (FF Creator) Games, but with a live combat system instead of turn based, There's another one that has turn based combat but i've forgotten the name of it for now

If he's into MMO's and like Final Fantasy, FFXI, the Final Fantasy MMO can be played ont he 360.

And while it's not a "boys game" and can recommend the new viva pinata, you can both play together to get the garden you want ... not a great description but maybe grab it on rental and try :)

Buy a real instrument :)

It'll work out the box, won't break after you use it for the second time, and you won't be sat around waiting for a new bit so you can play it again

Which means I still reckon for the price we pay over here the build quality of both is really shocking. When they get the build quality of these things right I'll get it, until then I'll just buy little strips of plastic and snap those for a similar feeling

We've had Rock Band for ages and it all works perfectly and the guitar from Guitar Hero 2 still works fine as well and can be used as the Bass with Rock Band :)

Is Rock Band 2 worth getting? does it do anything new that the original doesn't do, or is it simply another play list?

More songs is the obvious selling point if you already have RB1. It has some new features like the nofail mode and better tour mode (although I miss the solo tour from RB1 - you can tour solo but it's just playing the band tour without the other players). The new instruments are better too but if you have the RB1 instruments then they are still compatible as are the GH ones (at least on the 360).

The setlist though is worth the price of admission by itself IMO.

What about the songs we've already downloaded for rockband 1? Do they automatically update for RB2. I can't live without Duran's Rio :)

Lost Odyssey was the other one i was thinking of, very much like FF7 as it was developed by the same people.

Thanks again guys, Lost Odyssey looks like it might be the one. I'm not sure about the OL rpgs (even leaving aside the hassles we've been having trying to use Vista on a laptop to connect 360 to our router) I wonder how a console MMORPG can compete with a PC one?
