There aren't many players in the world who are better at their job than Gilberto, who is a regular for Brazil. I think Cole has earned the World Class tag and Pires has always been although his age may be against him now. Freddie arguably as well although he had a poor season. Many also who potentially will be.

There aren't many players in the Prem anyway who I would replace Arsenal players with.

note: By world class I mean players who are recognised as the best in their position nationally and whom would make a difference to whichever team they went to be it Milan or Barcelona. I think we have a few of those.

I don't think United should be written off (sadly). Their defensive form improved dramatically after Rio came back from injury (as can be seen from the number of clean sheets they took toward the second half of last season) and they were unlucky in the FA Cup Final.

True, they have some problems, but if their squad comes good (& some of 'em, such as Ronaldo & Rooney could come very good indeed), they could take it (again).

It's probably more interesting to try and guess who'll be 4th...but it's not easy.

L'pool will go into next season with a lot confidence, without a doubt, and it's hard to see Everton doing so well again. My money's on the red side of Liverpool. But I wouldn't be surprised to see someone else up there. Maybe even Boro.

Sadly, I think Spurs will be lucky to get a UEFA spot -- and we'll be grateful for that if we can get it.

Mine:

1. Man U
2. Arsenal
3. Chelski
4. Boro

Bit of Mystic Mog in the last choice there. Plus I think Chelski ground out too many of their wins last season & yep, I may hate 'em even more than the Gooners right now :)

The main problem the Mancs have is that their KEY players are at the very end of their career.

Last season, when Scholes and Keane didnt play they were incredibly ordinary. Both of those players have come very close to retiring.

A lot of their other players really arent good enough for them. Add to that players like Rooney and Ronaldo are either too inconsistent or have no end product and they just arent potential winners.

They remind me hugely of LFC in the early 90's - on the slide, in denial and buying poorly. They have been trying to buy a replacement for Keane for about 6 years. They need urgently to find replacements for Keane, Scholes and Giggs and a top Keeper.

Players who can do the Keane job very rarely come available. This summer there are two - Ballack and Essien. They will be missing out hugely if they dont get one of them, though it wouldnt surprise me if one goes to the Chavs and one to the Gunners. Ballack preference is Italy or Spain, mind you.

My feelings are: (yes im a Chelsea fan)

1: Chelsea - with the additions of Del Horno, Wright-Phillips and hopefully Essien we will improve. Just got to Hope Drogba or Crespo dont spurn so many chances.

2: Arsenal - Even without Viera, Whingers a good manager and knows what hes doing.

3: Liverpool - Will become more consistant and hopefully not so damn boring.

4: Man Utd - imo they need to rebuild

Teams to keep an eye on:

Spurs - Building a good looking young side
Bolton - Same as always. Got a great manager
