Sure they acheived good things but LEGENDS? Nah.

25 years ago they achieved perfection on there chosen sport recorded perfect 6's (unheard of) across the board and bringing the sport to the masses as well as moving bar for what could be achieved in ice dancing.
Their preformance of the Bolero will, no sorry 'has' gone down in history as a great sporting moment - defining T&D as sporting legends.

If you don't rate 'Ice Dancing' as a sport, then that's a difference arguement and a difference poll.

No, this poll is about are Torville and Dean sporting legends, you should know you created it.
The other poll was a collection of what I considered to be the best of the best, I'm sure other sports have there legends they're just not as well know to the masses, people like Torville and Dean, Bubka, Lance Armstrong and Steve Redgrave took lesser known sports and brought them to the masses with there outstanding preformances and setting new standards that couldn't be ignored because they were so exceptional.

We do have a habit of lionising sports that we happen to have a few good people in. Not been much mention of the Decathalon since Daley hung up his studs & not much on ice skating (or ice dance or wotever) since T&D & RC hit the teddies on ice kiddies xmas circuit.

a) they are legends with ice dancing, and
b) ice dancing is a sport.
now, although i may agree with a, its harder to make a case for b...
