Turn 2 - Of fire and Half orcs

Rogue Chimp
Thak grabbed the end of the water trough as his brother indicated to do so, and along with Arak lifted it almost effortlessly. A full(ish) water trough hoisted above his head brought out a sheen of sweat across the half orcs forehead as he strained against the weight.

Around the other side of the flaming half orc Siggi rushed towards the wounded town guard, grabbing her and trying to pull her backwards. Bamoin appeared from amongst the rushing crowds grinning. His hand slipped inside his leather armour, pocketing two small but fairly full pouched. He too moved close to the wounded guard looking around for trouble.

Knok, the elf stared at the flaming half orc and gestured quickly, tracing a rune in the air. He began to peer intently around the the half orc and in the direction he had come from. Sure enough he detected a strong aura of magic about the orc, and then, fainter a trail leading off further into the market district.

As Thak and Arak staggered towards the orc they could feel the power and heat of the flame. Then, suddenly and suprisingly they felt somthing tangle around their legs from behind. Caligula battered into them, causing Arak to loose his grip and upend the trough all over the flaming orc and the cleric. Maybe a little too soon as the water coughed, spluttered and seemed to quench the fire in a great billow of steam, relief spread across the half orcs face and then ....

... flames erupted out of him again, scorching the half orc borthers (minor damage 2 points each) your grins of triumph are replaced by looks of suprise at the renewed flame.

[What you know now: Water seems to affect it but the trough over the half orc wasnt enough.

2. Knok, in concentrating has detected a weakening magical trail heading further in the market district

3. The flames from the orc are fairly hot .. the closer you get you seem to feel pain from them

4. You cannot immediately see another trough of water though there is a pump where the trough sat.]

"Why fire no go out brudda?" Thak look's at his brother puzzled. "Sure is hot and sore" he rub's his scorched hand's. Sword still unsheathed Thak swings it whistling around in the air to keep the Orc's attention away from the townguard as Bamion and Siggi try to drag her away.

"Magik" He snort's, he has no use/need for the stuff and wonders why his brother bothers his time with it.

(Presuming we manage to get the Injured Sordswoman to a place of relative safety behind the Half-Orcs, Siggi will fumble around her belt for a pair of throwing axes)

"Huh! Vee'd need a shtorm to quench that one, alright. Vat say ve take him down my friend? If we take his legs from him he'll fall over"
" I saw men in flames like dis once before when we got the virgins back from Hrolf Ingbys stead but they went out when they fell in de sea 'cause Gottred had them hamstrung. Dey went black and crackled tho, when dey was burning. Heh, turned out they wasnt virgins no more either"

She looks at her clever nimble - fingered friend, trying to judge how he likes the idea of attacking the burning Orc.

Caligula picks himself off the cobbled street, slightly worse for wear and sodden. A foul expression crosses his face as he realises he won't be allowed back into the tavern.

Eyeing the chaos around him, he mumbles something about someone bothering to refil the trough and dump the orc in it. Muttering away to himself, he wanders over to a nearby doorway and sits down, sulking and twitching slightly to himself, observing the action.

" This Half orc seems to bare brunt of an evil trick ,me thinks"

Bamoin steps away from the Swordswoman and towards the burning Half-orc , his hands raises in submisssion.

" Ho ! there friend, stay calm , are you being hurt by these flames ? we can only help you if you stay calm ."

Bamoin is hoping that the Half-orc is more startled by the flames than being hurt by them , and will listen to reason and common sense before his friends end his existence.

But alway wary ,he is alert and waiting for any agressive movements.

knok makes a sharp noise that any of his friends that have average or so intelegence(sp) would know was him asking for some one to follow and see what trouble he is about to find, and starts to follow the faint trail of magic back to is sorce, believing that the flaming orc is a divertion and the flames are proberbly just and an illusion as the orc seems not to be in pain just very distressed by his new heating system

Knok thinks to himself of what he is liable to find and what sort of being would pull such a stunt, the only thing that comes to mind is an old gnomeish illusonist that he used to know that like to collect pretty objects but dislike paying for them

Not convinced that the fire is an illusion due to the apparent effect the water had on the flames, Arak turns to his brother: "Try, take him to the water - need to get rid of hotness. Me follow coughing elf."

Arak, alerted by Knok's coughing, turns to looks at him quizzically, and then follows him along the trail of magic. Reaching Knok: "Why are we leaving the flames? Have you detected the source of the conflagration? I earlier surmised that the casting mage may not be too far away"

Thak looks at his brother and shrug's his shoulders, "Thak try" he said. Grabbing the trough he scooped it under his arm (It's empty now) he run's over to the pump and procced's to fill the trough with water from the pump. Once full he goes back toward's the flaming half-orc hoping the the little rouge can keep him busy enough. Grabbing Gutter by the pommel he shout at the half orc, "HEY YOU UGLY FIRE ORC". If the Half orc looks round Thak will smash the hilt of his sword into his face trying to knock him out so he can drag him and throw him into the full trough.

Seeing that arak is the one following him, Knok picks up the pase a bit knowing that a sharp mind is with him.
