Turn 35 - Repair room

[MAking no assumptions regarding players. We shall see what happens this turn as to who remains, who wants to leave and who wants to join in. ]

As there seems little else to be gleaned from the chamber, or a way to open the door you head upstairs onto the gantry and then through the North passage on the eastern side of the room.

After 20 feet the passageway opens out into a chamber. A brief glances shows you a number of curved brass plates lie about the floor here.
Tools of all sorts surround a toppled (and probably rotten) wooden work table in the middle of the room. The walls are bare.

A further passageway heads westwards into the darkness.

Thak will watch Bamoin like a hawk ready for when he pounces out of trouble and brings them to his blade.

Dee will listen intently for any sounds as Bamoin advances, and given the chance will investigate the brass plates to see what they might have contained or been used for.

"What you all reckon about that Warding thing anyway then ? I don't know much about these magics but could fixing it open the door which is closed with a ward on it ?"

Whilst asking he mentally counts the number of bone rings and see's if there are enough for everyone in the party.

OOC - Nice to be back :)

DM Response:

Rings: There are two types. 1 set of 3 have red eyes in the skull rings. The other set of 6 - taken from the goblins a blue colour to the eyes. The red rings came from the minotaur, the Lamia and the half orc in the mansion.

Traps: The room is clear of traps. Bamoin is certain that this is the case.

Plates: Some have the carvings of dragons on them. they are very very similar in nature, shape and composition to the Warding generator in the chamber you have just left. You may be able to use them to fix the generator. However Atak estimates at least a couple of months to do so, assuming he can find the rituals needed to rebuild and activate the generator.

"Hell no we're not going to repair the warding generator, at least not as long as there's still some corner to check out in this dungeon." (ooc: :p)

Belwar casts detect magic. (If he can, otherwise he tells Arak to do it. Hope I got the name right. :-D )

"Oi, don't just stand around there! Go search through that rubble thoroughly and see if you can find anything out of interest." (ooc: Skill use Search take 20. i.e. 10 minutes per 5x5 square... ;-P)

If we can't find anything, and we're all in nice shape, we'll continue further down the passage to the west... Unless someone objects that is. :)

"Yep, lets carry on looking around, but with these rings maybe we could teleport to where that Dark elf went to ? But then I'm not feeling too good about appearing somewhere we have no knowledge of."

A thorough search of the room reveals nothing more.

As bamoin investigates near the western tunnel he pauses a moment, he is positive he heard, coming faintly down the tunnel a clink of metal as if something moved.

Caligula wanders around looking utterly disinterested in everyone and, indeed, life in general.

Dee starts swinging his staff wildly around, then stops and holds his hands to his eyes and sits down with his staff across his lap behind the table.

OOC - Saw the eye specialist yesterday and the eye he operated on doing very well but wants to do the other eye ASAP which is looking like it will actually be tomorrow. If it goes ahead I'll be out of action for a month or two again (well unable to read any size font), so can you either take a long lasting action as "Keep mentioning the rings in moments of faffing, and attack anything Caligula tell me to (a pet gnome cheers anyone up)" or have me sat somewhere safe which my vision gets back on track :)

"I heard something up ahead, can someone light it up a bit ?"

Bamoin takes a more defensive stance while trying to peer ahead .

[OOC] if there is nothing the read on :) ]

"noise will travel far in hear so it might be worth moving slowly onward"

With that he edges slowly in, keeping to the left wall.

Belwar lights a torch, but has slight problems with the torch as it's slightly damp (don't ask why :p), and coughs loudly at the smoke...

Then when he's finally got it lit, he pipes happily "Well shall we go then? Light is also seen quite far in tunnels I've heard. Mmm.. I'll take cover behind you Bamoin!" And hugs the wall with the torch in hand beside Bamoin. (ooc: 'Ere we go.... :D)

Thak step's up behind Bamion waiting for a warning, and ready to act on a moment's notice, making sure he has room to swing. "Get behind me Belwar i shall attack first i'll need your magic as cover".

"Hmmmh?"

Now when you've finally gotten adapted to the stinging bright and steady light of Belwar's torch, he suddenly starts waving it around in obscure arcs and chanting, only to poke Thak in the ribs in the end. Suddenly you all see that the half-orc barbarian seems to grow a gnarly and thin layer on his skin, with a barely recognizable smell of oakwood about him...

After inspecting his work on Thak, Belwar grunts satisfactory as if Thak would be a piece of furniture (albeit a good one!) or something like that. He then wild shapes into his wolf form, and waves his paws and lets out odd growling noises... Upon completing the chant, the mighty wolf beside Thak growls and shows his very sharp and shiny teeth...

Belwar slaps lightly Bamoins leg to indicate that we should already be moving...

jial follows up the rest of the party, listening closely and with a arrow ready to fly at a moments notice.
"repairing the generator is not a job for us. however, we should mention it to jevica (i think thats the one, the glass armed bint) when we get back."
