Turn 39.1 [Area 11 ] Combat Round 1.

Zed

Rogue Chimp
Initiative Order:
Jial; Aceed, Caligula, Dee, knok, Thak, Belwar, Atak, Risach, Bamoin, Monster

Combat

Jial Looses a volley of Arrows at the Giant. (Many shot - Standard action 2 arrows) then retreats 30 foot back into the golem room- First arrow misses, 2nd arrow also misses going wide over the creature. With a curse Jial back away.

Aceed moves back towards the golem room at double move (40ft - full round action).

Chortling away to himself, half drunk Caligula moves back into the room as well, taking cover in the far corner.

Dee waits, watching Thak for his actions.

knok steps back 5ft and launches a barrage of Arrows at the Cloud Giant. The first arrow hits, protruding from the giants shoulder. Knok blinks then sudenly smiles "Its an Illusion" he cries.

Thak bundles past the others, gutter in hand, he grabs Belwar by the hackles and pulls him backwards then he squares off against the giant. Illusion, it looks bloody real to the barbarian as it continues to climb out of the pit roaring. He squares up to the giant in full defensive mode ready for the attack.

Dee rushes forwards, not quite being able to flank the Giant. He stops short next to the towering Half orc.

Belwar growls behind Thak at the injustice of the drag, then growls and howls oddly before ending on a bite on Thaks calf. Thak feels somewhat stronger (+4 str -2 Dex 60mins)

Atak backs off 30ft feet, "Web would catch you my brother." he calls as he does so, then mutters the words of Magic missile. AS they strike he too sees the Giant for what it is - an illusion (faint giant outline remains) "Knok is correct, This is an illusion" he screams.

Risach drops the lantern to the ground then readies his Greatsword. The creature doesnt detect as evil (though evil is strongly eminating from the pit) He pauses and waits.

Bamoin retreats back into the Golem room, ready to face the beast. To him it looked, sounded and smelt real.

The giant strides forwards, clearing the lip of the pit, hunched a little in the passageway it swings for Thak. The blow connects with the Half orc causing incredible pain, or it should have, instead the giant seems to fade to an outline. "Illusion".

A bottle seems to fly out of the pit, landing at the feet of the giant. It explodes in a shattering of glass unleashing hell. The giant seems to vanish in a blink, replaced by a whirling torrent of wind. It hits Dee, Unable to get out of the way of the torrent of air DEe is buffetted against the wall with great force (11 dam) Somehow the little gnome keeps his feet. Thak too fails to avoid the buffeting winds. He is slammed up against the ceiling and then onto the floor with great force (14 dama).

Actions for Round 2?

Status page updated. Im going to add a summary thread on the status to track hps, arrows, spells used, spells in effect etc.

Cartwheel RIGHT
[ooc: I say we pull back, and nuke the whole god damn site from orbit. - guess what film i watched last night}

Grab Dee and man handle / push / throw gently back into the previous room where he can hopefully recieve treatment for his wounds.

"Aceed my firend, wyoud you perchance have that ring in your pocket anywhere, i suspect the pit has taken a liking to you and your slipery fingers..."

Dee will use dancing lights and ghost sound aimed in the direction of the door south of the pit (in the east wall). With the aim to make something resembling humanoid noisly moving from the door to then peer over the pit. Those party members in the room should see this while Dee is concentrating on creating this illusion (of sorts). While doing so he'll slowly peel himself off the wall and back out the room slighly (while keeping line of sight to the door for the lights/sound, as I believe they need line of sight).

As Thak picks himself up off the floor Dee will try and get his attention and point toward the 4 chains on the wall and making a throat slit motion and then pointing toward the ground (Hoping that makes some sense)

He will only pull back fully into the golem room when everyone else is safely there.

(ooc: Whooooo!!! Finally a good nice decently interesting encounter, worth actually planning your actions for. Great going! Luv ya bud Zed! :D)

Belwar howls with glee as the wind rises, as it almost seems like the masochist druid/wolf is actually enjoying the whirlwind. He dances and howls in honour to the wind and with a sadistic yap he bites Thak yet again, although this time the pain is real, as if the sudden wisp of wind in this damp complex has somehow touched the druid's heart and inspired him! (ooc: Bear's Endurance cast on Thak). Then Belwar pauses for a short moment, contemplating his next move, and deems wisest to back off to a safe distant from the whirlwind (ooc: i.e. not all the way to the golem room, just a some 10 feet or so), and then sits down and scratches behind his ear with his left hindleg, as if he'd got all the time in the world to wait for the next crazy event to happen...

If no one can cancel the illusion, it may be everthing in the room is an illusion (including the pit). [/ooc dunno how I convey this as we're all in the middle of a fight, I guess we're all mind readers]

Actions.

I'll take the ring out of my pouch and hold it (not wearing it) so that Chick can see it and admit I may have aquired it from somewhere.

I'll wait to the end of the round to see if any wizard character casts dispell or dispell illusion type spell and if the ring is not doing anything I'll contemplate putting it on. (this should allow someone to interupt me or dispel the illusions).

(ooc: Eh mate, read the bottom lines of the round post again. The illusion was dispelled (torn to shreds practically) by the whirlwind. And I doubt the pit is an illusion, as the whirlwind doesn't affect it. I would heavily advice against putting on the ring, as I think that it should only be done in circumstances that's very well in our control, and right now it's definitely not in our control. ;) )

Kegs

With the Benedictine monks.
Thak looks at Dee and the colour drains from his face. "I'LL TRY" he shouts over the madding wind. Before retreating Thak will try and leap past the Whirlwind and look over the pit edge if there is a Magic user he will toss down his pot of Alchmeist Fire or cut the chains in the hope that it is holding up a platform of some kind with the Magic user on and he will fall to his death. If it's not possible he will retreat back as fast as he can so the magic users can try something.

(OOC: Heehee here goes nothing!!!)

Aceed waits for magic user action then. I'll still show it to Chick as he asked, but I'll draw my weapons and wait.

(ooc: Well if I understood correctly from aciid's last post, the ring wouldn't be worn at this time.)
