UK or US

Reading the threads there does seem to be a UK version and US version. I am assuming that its the usual 'where the servers are based'

Looking at some of the links on where to pre-order some are UK version and some US.

Question 1 does it make a difference (expecting the answer to be yes)?

Question 2 It would probably make sense to stick to US or UK or we will fragement so what is everyones preference to this?

US version you can play on the euro server and Euro copies you can play on the US servers, so whatrever version you get we can all pick from the same server list. I'd say US servers myself as it means there wouldn't be the possible langague barries on the Euro servers ?

In Game today it had EQ2 down for november release but didn't give an exact date. I do seem to recall seeing EQ2 release date set at the 15th of November for both US and UK release.

From the FAQ on the EverQuest 2 Forums:

Servers
Who is hosting the British, French, and German servers?
SOE is hosting all servers in North America and Europe.

Where will the UK/FR/DE servers be physically located?
The European servers will be located in Amsterdam.

Who is providing customer support for those servers?
SOE is providing all customer service support for North America and Europe.

Will EverQuest II be fully translated into French and German?

Yes. All in-game text and voiceover will be translated into both French and German. Each version will be fully playable in its respective language when connected to localized French or German servers.

Can people with European versions of the game play on U.S. servers?

Yes, the current plan is for there to be an optional patch available that will allow European players to connect to the U.S. servers.

If I purchase the French or German version of EverQuest II and connect to a U.S. server, in which language will I be playing the game?

To play on a U.S. server, French and German subscribers will have to download the English-language version of the game. When these players connect to an English-language server, all in-game text and commands will appear in English. Due to the size of the files involved, we will not patch voice data into other languages. So French and German players on U.S. servers will see all text in English but will hear the character voices in their own language.

Can people with the U.S. version of the game play on European servers?

Yes, the current plan is for there to be an optional patch available that will allow U.S. players to connect to the European servers as well. But as stated above, the voiceover data will not be patched into other languages. So U.S. players on European servers will see all text in French or German but will hear the character voices in English.

Can the same EverQuest II subscription be used to connect to both the U.S. and European servers?

Yes, you can play on any non-premium U.S. or European server with a single EverQuest II subscription. However, character voices will be heard in the language of the version you purchase.

Is the UK version of EverQuest II different from the U.S. version?

The UK version of EverQuest II is the same as the U.S. version. We encourage UK subscribers to play on the localized English-language European server because it offers the best choice for optimal gameplay in Europe. However, UK subscribers can play on the U.S. servers if they choose to do so.

Will there be a server hosted in Australia at launch?
