Ultimate Spiderman

My son has recently become a huge Spiderman fan though the movies and i've been looking into getting him the comic ordered. However with a little web (weak pun intended) research i've found out they reinvented the whole Spiderman mythos with a new comic called Ultimate Spiderman a few years ago and it's easy to buy the back catalog of these so we can see the whole thing from the start.

Anyway my point is has anyone read any of these new Spiderman comics and are they suitable for a 10 year old (and his Dad, who will probably enjoy them just as much!).

this graphic novel is a good place to start,its black and white but it tells the story of how spiderman came about.i have some of the xmen ones in my loft for when my kiddies get older and i recommend those ones too.ive never read the ultimate spiderman though so i couldnt tell you how good they are.

I actually ordered the first few Ultimate Spiderman arcs and we both enjoyed them. Very lighthearted but always entertaining and surprisingly quite witty, recommended for kids and grownup kids
