We finished second last season Ky mate with Paddy either injured or indifferent for a lot of it. He did have some great games but I can count them on one hand and we missed Gilberto a lot more.

He will be bloody hard to replace but I think we'll be fine without him and I can't imagine Arsene would let him go without some plan in place, even if he is going to put his faith in Fab and Hleb and not sign anyone immediatley. I also don't think this is as sudden as it seems and I think Arsene knew this was coming for a while. He did mention there would be a big shake up in the summer at the end of last season.

The only thing I find frustrating is that we could have got �25mil for him last season and its bizarre that we let him go for half that.

Not only that but you're getting it in installments which is REALLY bizarre. I think he might have fallen out with Wenger; I'm intrigued by Wengers comments too - I wonder who he has lined up to replace Vieira?

Well, I don't think there is any doubt that Wenger is the Premierships shrewdest operator in teh transfer market so I'm interested to see who he unveils.

I don't think we'll sign any big player mate to replace him. Its not Arsene's way. I think he'll work with what he's got.

Thats exactly what I said on here when I heard about it the other day mate. Wasnt it nearly �30mill Real were going to pay?

And, yes, similar to Gerrard for us last season, Vieira was disappointing. I read you won 60% of the games he did play and 80% of the games he didnt. Cant help feeling that some of your star players are disenchanted thinking they cant catch the Chavs for the title and might be seeking pastures new.

There are rumours that Wenger agreed with Vieira last summer that if we didn't win the CL, he could go no questions this summer. I'm inclined to believe something like this as there was little fuss from Arsene and Dein about it. At the very least him going is no big shock to them.

I guess at 29, and with his leg problems, it may not seem to be such bad business in a year or two.

Don't want Jenas, really don't rate him at all although maybe Arsene sees something in him. Apparently this story came about because some Sky muppet mentioned to Souness what would happen if Arsenal came calling.
