PVC Love God
It's been a while since I actually finished anything but now I have a bunch of stuff all about ready to go at once so I'll have a few updates in the next couple of weeks.

Mostly I've been busy painting stuff for other people rather than making inroads on the mountain of unpainted stuff of my own. All of these are tabletop+ standard so done with relatively no frills or extra detailing.

First up is a High Elf Mage from the Isle of Blood set. My friend wants his High Elf army to be pink and white so I stuck to that palette for the most part. There is some freehand on the cloak (inside and out) but other than that, it's a basic job.

Next is a squad of Sanguinary Guard led by Commander Dante of the Blood Angels. These are really lovely models and I magnetised all the options in the kit so that the arms are swappable should my friend want to switch out weapons.

I did these with the airbrush to get somewhere towards a true metallic metal effect although I stopped short of earth-sky highlights on the curved surfaces and settled for sharp highlights instead. I started by spraying them all mid brown and then applying zenithal sprays of progressively lighter silver colours from one side. Once this was done I layered on transparent yellow, brown and green glazes to build up a gold colour - I didn't actually use any gold paint on these guys - before painting the wings and details with the old hairy stick.

Here's the complete squad

Here's one from the 'dark side' after only a couple of glazes, you can see the mid brown is now forming a matte lowlight on the shadow side of the figure

Here they are midway through the glazing process

Here is one in progress showing the light to dark transition from one side of the model to the other
