Well Cad and I have had the first two games of Warmachine and I thought I'd share my thoughts on Warmachine so far.
- This is one mainly from Cad, but the models don't appear to have been made with much thought, mould lines being in awkward places, or on large areas which make cleaning and tidying of models a pain.
- They look really nice though as far as I was concerned once built and cleaned up
- The cards are to me at least a little unclear, trying to work out from all the symbols what a weapon did was a pain, though this will be partly from my vision as well, but for most of the cards they could have simply listed stuff on the back in a clearer form
- Marking off the damage on models added "something" I'm not sure what but it gave me a nice warm feeling even when it was my light warjack being bashed into the table
- Headbutt - seems rather powerful for one action point, though I will admit it could be a case of needed to re-read the rules
- The whole mechanic of giving focus to Warjacks and then spending those points for extra attacks/an extra dice/special attacks works really well and again gives you a warm glow inside
- Less dice is so nice, a normal attack is 2d6 to hit and then 2d6 to damage if you hit, you could have an ability thyat gives you an extra dice, or charge to get an extra dice or spend a focus point, which mean even a charging Warjack spending a focus point for an extra dice still only rolls 2 dice, though adding up the numbers for some reason was a little complicated (which only really seemed important on the damage rolls)
- Cad's dice are still rubbish
All in all though really happy with things, will do a little research and then probably buy some more units but the other nice thing is I don't need as many models
All in all good game, like the small skirmish type fights
