I'll probably get one, the controller looks like it could be good fun for golf games and stuff :)

I'll be getting one, cheap, fun and if gold and fishing isn't your thing remember they have sword fighting, shooting, archery, driving, conduct an orchestra and no doubt soon a bootleg porn game.

The controller just allows for some nice new ideas and some fun. The Wii will do more for bringing new gamers into games than the PS/3 or 360 could ever dream of.

I'll have to find out if the release date over here is the same, I've already got the bundle I want in mind so be interesting to see the final cost :D

Ohhh just over 2 months /bounce

And yes I'm biast on the Wii, but at least you won't need a mortgage to buy one, unlike the PS/3

From what I've played so far I have to say that for the first time I would consider buying a Nintendo colsole. The controller - if implemented well - really does add in another level into gameplay.

Dead Again, I need a Rez
ooh you can play all the old Nintendo games going back to the NES on it too.

Had great fun on my SNES, and havent owned a console since apart from the PS2 but thats only used as a DVD player.

Probably the first time in years ive been even slightly interested in a console release.

PS3, XBox 360 dont do anything i cant do on my PC, and my PC probably does it better.

Wii at least is adding some new ideas and fun games rather than just graphically impressive ones.

Well with the playstation 3 delivery mess up I think Nintendo could do well this christmas, but I've a feeling most people will just be buying more Xbox 360's.

If only Nintendo had some better (more suited to adults, rather than 'kiddie') games......

Games I want that I think/thought were in the release list:
Nintendo Sports (might come with it not sure)
Some sword play game, decapitate people, block attacks, etc, etc, generally look silly holding a controller
The shootem up one where you can club people with the butt of the gun as well
Zelda ... I mean .. Zelda ... it's zelda folks ... with a bow, you actually pretend your holding a bow and arrow, you hear the tension ni the string, the controler vibrates under the tension ... /drool

Not really kiddy titles are they ? I know that have the new mario game which I don't like the look of though but parents getting there kids a 360 will have bored kids by boxing day, those getting a Wii will have the whole family playing into the new year :)

Oh and I'll get getting some old classic as well on it, and the new animal crossing when it comes out.

And while I can't name any games cos my memory is crap there is nothing on the other consoles which I'm keen to see, perhaps Gran Turismo if they hadn't just taken the product down the same old crappy "graphics rock" path.

That's for the Gamecube, I assumed Marks was talking about a Wii game. Konga is good if it wasn't for the clapping/tapping thing you had to do as well.

Anyone recommend a good place to pre-order from ? Or is it gonna be the usual hit/miss thing on release ?

Looking at the launch titles now: Games I like the look of are

Elebits (Never heard of this before, looks fun)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (cos if we didn't Talili would kill me)
Red Steel (swords, nuff said)
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (The kind of game anyone could pick up and enjoy)
Trauma Center: Second Opinion (same idea as super monkey ball with the added fun of nudging someone as they operate :D)

Maybe's:
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (If you can fight together, not against each other could be fun)
Far Cry: Vengeance (Cos it's far cry)

And once it's out
Avatar: The Last Airbender (tell em to hurry up Piper, looks ace !!!!)
Pokmon Battle Revolution (pika-chu(sp) kicks some more ass)

Not sure about pre-ordering, I'm pretty sure we'll want some bundle kinda thing, but I really doubt we'll see pre-order bundles, and I guess no deals till after x-mas :(
