POOOOOOOO

Dear Customer,

Due to a European shortage of the Nintendo Wii Consoles, we regret to inform you
that Play.com will be unable to supply your pre-ordered Nintendo Wii at launch.
As an Official distributor of Nintendo products we are guaranteed more stock
before Christmas, but Nintendo have informed us, along with all other official
Nintendo retailers, that the console will not be freely available until next
year.

All pre-orders will be fulfilled on a first come, first served basis and we will
fulfil your order as soon as we can.

If you no longer wish to keep your pre-order with Play.com please login to your
account and remove the item from your Outstanding Orders.

Kind Regards

PLAY.COM
Just got it though it was sent at 3:30

POO POO POO !!!!
And it seems to fly in the face of what Nintendo said about 4 million this year, unless GAME and ToysRUs will also be the place to buy them in the UK as well

I'm already resigned to the fact if I want one I'll have to stand outside Toys R Us from silly o'clock to get one on the day of release, and not sure I can be bothered as it's the day before mine and Talili's 1 year wedding anniversary.

Well wandered in last night, put down the 10 quid (which is deducted off the final amount) and walked out guaranteed one, so I'm happy :D

Not quite, it's more

Lots of Training with Rosie so she passes her Bronze training :) (If we don't do that it's pretty guaranteed she'd jump up at the controllers while we are playing or chew on the cable to the nunchuk, so it's worth doing :D)

Dead Again, I need a Rez
Anyone know what your getting in the box? like how many controllers and they putting the classic controllers in too? what kind of connection to the TV etc?

Nintendo Sports is included in the box in the EU, you get it free, like it or not. In the box you get:

Wii
Startup disk - Some system updates on there and region specific stuff
Wii-mote
Nunchuk
2xAA batteries
Wii Sports

Cables included = RGB type one's, if you want to goto 420p you need to buy that cable separately, Connection is Wireless and that's in the box free, if you want to go wired you need to buy an adapter to go from network cable to one of the USB connections on the Wii.

You don't get the classic controller though can use the wii-mote on it's side, or N64 controller or buy the classic one for 14.99

If you want more controllers I'd highly highly recommend getting Wii Play (which included a red wii-mote) and another nunchuk, for two player fun. Wii Play include 10 mini games makes the wii-mote normal price and 10 fun games for about 5 or 7 quid (I forget)

The mini games are explained nicely Here In short though:

Shooting Range
Find Mii
Table Tennis
Pose Mii
Laser Hockey
Billiards
Fishing
Charge
Tanks

That's 9 but I think there are 2 games in the shooting range.

Only place I found was Toys R Us in store to get a guaranteed pre-order, nothing at all on-line. The only thing to be aware of it's a 10 quid deposit and it's a guarantee of a bundle, the details of which aren't disclosed as yet. But for me at least if it means I get one before X-mas guaranteed the bundle choices aren't going to be that bad, and worse case I'm sure there will just be a Wii + Zelda + Red Steel + Monkey Ball and then I'll just need to get Wii Play and an extra Nunchuk on the day.

I think the fact that they "guarantee" you'll get one when everyone else isn't sure they'll get enough it slightly suspicious!

If it's anything like the US shops have been assigned more stock than internet shops (no idea quite why), and Toys R Us and Game are the one's who have the most stock.

My Local Toys R Us had probably 50 or so pre-orders left (mainly I think cos according to the website pre-orders can't be done yet)

Edit, For Dart:
Nintendo has recently announce that the wii will have 480p capability cable for the Wii at launch. They announced last month or so that the Wii will ship with composite cables for standard resolution televisions. Meaning, you can purchase them at launch. The cable will cost around $30.00 for people to buy.
Couldn't find the UK price though
