The problem is with these 'lets stop the X-Factor getting to number 1!!!' facebook campaigns is all they do is give the X-Factor more hype and paper time. I heard more about last years X-Factor winner because of the whole 'Rage Against the Machine' (incidently a joke of a band back in the 90's) vs the X Factor, than a normal. Simon Cowell probably couldn't believe his luck, the people who were supposedly against his product were actually promoting it....
At the end of the day who cares whats at number 1 thesedays, even at Christmas - I couldn't name one song that has been number 1 this year!
