You PvP Peeps - PRX ?

I know some of you guys are long time l33t pvp'ers. Did you ever come across PRX - the Professionals in UO /DaoC / whatever ?

I recognise the name PRX, even had fights with them in other games, infact I think there is a PRX on Piken in GW2, never knew any of them though, plus the PRX i remember was a US based guild think they were in DAoC last i saw them but it could also have been Conan.

Don't remember the name from UO, but from their history page it looks like they were on other servers.

Yeah this is the one. I'm been with them since beta and am an officer with them now. First time I've been in a hardcore PvP guild.

Currently 41 wins 1 loss in daily/weekly WvW (US). \o/

We were unbeaten 19-0 in tier 1 on Henge of Denravi until our alliance decided to split to other servers. We've taken a tier 5 server up to joining Tier 1 tonight. Expecting an intense week and getting beat.

Piken is doing rather well at the mo, not sure of our rank it's not something I take notice of in all honesty.

We (PRX) won the last three weeks in the top US tier. It's been crazy tough. Our win/loss is now 47-1 (the loss was a week we transferred after our alliance disbanded) including taking a tier 4 server to number 1 server (SoS).

Anyways, we moved to a Euro server (Seafarer's Rest) for a change of pace.

I don't know if there's a ClanUK guild and I don't want to step on toes but I do want to invite anyone who wants to experience some serious large scale WvW (350 of us and we field well over a 100 players at reset) before this game dies to either transfer their guild to (SFR) or I can get anyone into PRX who wants to hook up short term/long term. Though be warned - no adult language in /guild, /map or TS3 and no-one is allowed to post on public forums as a member of PRX ><


Also anyone going to run in Darkfall : Unholy Wars ? Four days to release !

none of the above, i realised last week after getting another toon to 80 and sorting out my gear, the game is pure zerg vs zerg and in all honesty being number one server means nothing ;-)

so playing Borderlands 2 and reactivated the best mmg still for RvR!

sad as it may seem, i thought GW2 had it, but it doesn't something major is missing.

If you want a game where you really put your cahooners on the line in PvP I'd recommend Salem, it's too much for me but might appeal to the more tough nut PvP'ers out there.

Sadly Git, I agree. I too thought GW2 might have some staying power, but at the end of the day, its all about being on the server with the biggest zerg and the best off hours coverage.

I think something like Darkness Falls would be good, but in all honesty, I doubt if I could be bothered to log in for enough time to run there :)

Played Darkness Falls in beta and release mate, it was hacked to hell by lots of old old faces from UO days, people like mercs and sun wrecked it, i did have a bit of fun, but really didn't like how unstable the game was.

back in DAoC still has a decent pop and proper RvR on the side Borderlands 2, even though i have not seen one CUK person playing yet!

WvW should only be for like 15hrs a day, freeze it during the night.

The only times piken get beat is when faced with 'all night' crazy servers, you wake up to a sea of enemy colors on all maps. That takes zero skill.

that's exactly the problem, even in DAoC you have this, but in all honesty is pretty balanced, that if you have that early morning late night muble each side has those populations, it's 2500 players evenly split between euros & yanks with asians, split nicely betweeen mid alb and hib so it's a proper back and forth..

bloody shame but GW2 is all about who is the top server and zerg, shame as I think it has potential but i really can't be assed to back and forth like that, also indivudual skill is nullified that it's no fun.. on my hunter i can run solo or grouped in DAoC other classes i cant but at least i can still solo if i want to and get some decent pvp.

Agreed, even with GG guild zerging with 40 peeps gets dullard.

It is interesting though that the developers are making a few changes in WvW for Feb though (see below post), they have already outlined a few coming in the patch this week.

Saying that Piken are still top this week, but its going to be close this reset...

Wintersday is coming and along with all the other goodies there will be a few updates to WvW. Some of these changes are the result of forum feedback while others are part of our longer term plans for WvW. Here�s a quick preview of what WvW will get for Wintersday:

Advance notification of new builds
In order to allow WvW players to make good decions about siege placement, assault timing, etc. we�re adding a new build pre-announcement. This will be in the form of a message broadcast to all players some time before the current build expires. Because this notification is tied to one of the final steps in our build process, and those final steps take a variable amount of time, we won�t be able to say exactly when the current build will expire. Instead, the message will provide a window of time in which the new build will become available.

Alt+F4 is no escape
If someone that you�re fighting disconnects during combat (via Alt+F4, killing the client process, etc.) their character will be instantly killed, death penalties will be applied, and XP & loot will be handed out as usual.

No more insta-build walls & gates
Destroyed walls and gates will now rebuild when they reach 10% health rather than on the very first repair. This means that when attackers down a wall or gate defenders won�t be able to instantly rebuild it. Walls and gates which are destroyed can still be damaged if they have any health.

Breakout events
We�ve added a new event type to WvW called Breakout events which trigger when one or more teams have been pushed completely out of a map. They�re designed both to help players break out of severly camped portal keeps and to provide assistance in establishing a foothold in each map. Here�s what designer Matt Witter has to say about them:

Break Out Events are special WvW events that will happen when a team has lost control of all defensive structures, not counting supply camps. An NPC commander will appear in the team�s start area and an event will start that prompts players to gather around. Once enough players are in the commander�s presence he will summon his trusty dolyak to give all allies in the area full supply. He will then lead the charge to the nearby objective and give players protection and assist with building siege to assault the objective with. Those benefits, along with a defensive boon that he applies to all nearby allies, makes the attacking players a force to be reckoned with. Defenders will have their work cut out for them, as once the gate or wall piece is destroyed the commander will move to the tower lord inside and attack anyone in his path.

These changes are just a small part of what the WvW team has been up to lately. As you may have already heard, we�re hard at work on some larger updates that we plan to deliver in February. We�re not quite ready to talk about the details yet but as February gets closer we�ll start to reveal more of our secrets.

that sounds interesting, as i reckon they have realised something needs to change in WvW, even i noticed that in the cities on Piken it was quieter when crafting.
