In cm2, playing 3 defs 4 mids and 3 strikers in a 3-3-1-3 formation with direct ball as tactic we took Leyton Orient to the European cup final in 7 seasons from division 4 and one season Sam Ayorinde got 87 goals! (I think the formation was a "cheat" one put in by the pogrammers that we stumbled upon by accident.). U had to play it a few times for trial and error to know which players to get. Danny Murphy, 2 of the Spaniards from Wigan Ath, a young welsh striker who's name escapes me now. Using those tactics most games scored 5 or more goals too :)

Played 3 seasons now, just did the treble with the Arse, and I'm not as hooked as I was with the previous games. Maybe it was playing too much 01/02, but it just dosen't seem to have that magic this time around.

Going to try with a third division team and work up. Thats normally where things are more interesting.

A couple of niggles.

Players don't seem to have as much of an impact as I seem to remember in previous CM games. Its all about tactics which is fair to a point, but I just played Newcastle in the Champions League final and because of nearly all of my squad away on international duty (another stupid niggle) I had to play the game with two goalkeepers in outfield and mostly all second string or youngsters and still won. It just feels that I could stick anyone in the first 11 no matter who and get a result as the tactics seem to work. Players seem to lose a bit of their personality because of this as they all seem generic.

Players constantly miserable for no reason. Don't know why after being so successful but a lot of the players morale is always v. poor. Maybe its a bug.

Still, this season one of Spurs' imaginery summer signing targets is Ronaldo. Good to see some things are spot on and Spurs continue to delude themselves. :D

Got it a couple of days ago , having not played CM for a coupe of years im well enjoying it.

Played my first season with bournemouth (my local team) was expected to have a respectable finish , had zero cash for transfers and a huge bank loan, had to sell a couple of players to bring wage bill down.

Anyway made it only to 3rd round of FA cup but i did beat Cardiff City in 2nd round :), Season didnt start so well until i got in a couple of loan players and a couple of free transfers and reverted to my old CM formation of 4-4-2 attacking with 2 midfield generals.

Somehow managed to pip 3rd place in divvy 3 and get auto promotion. Season 2 has started and only 2 games in with a 6-1 away win over tranmere hehe and then a 3-2 defeat to cambridge after being 2-0 up. I have aqquired for the season on loan Luke Chadwick from Man U and mikeal forsell from leeds so things are looking up and the bank loans are going down.

I actually got a budget of 40k to spend on players too, gonna try not to use it as Bournemouths finances are looking a bit dodgy still.
