On the WoW thing.

My kids just finished watching kung fu panda 2 and realised that the next WoW expansion meant they could 'be' kung fu panda' and started begging me to resub to WoW. (no and it's still no!)

I don't think the target WoW player base will suffer too much then!

Only thing that surprises me is why people are even debating the fact that a company is using a gimmick to try and maintain it's revenue stream.

I want to play the WoW expansion and I want to play D3 so I signed up.

If you don't like it, don't do it.

If WoW has around 10m subscribers world wide (the last figure I remember seeing) and each of them pays �9 per month, that would mean that Blizzard pull in �90m per month.

Even if half of those subscribers left for SWTOR, D3 or anything else, they'd still be taking �45m per month. I'd guess they'd managed to scrape by on that.

If only 1m people buy the next expansion and it were to cost �20, I suppose Blizzard would take at least �10m after packaging, shipping, retailers, etc.

I'd expect a lot of the development costs of the expansion to be covered by the monthly subs as the teams are working on WoW anyway.

Blizzard don't come across as desperate to me.

I don't quite know why so much hatred is aimed at WoW. I stopped playing a while back, but most people I speak to have the same problem. The game is awesome, its the people who play it that put me off playing Especially the ones that moan about the game being too hard -.-

hehe i agree with you Pan,and as was mentioned,stop whining about WoW go and whine about the other games,they all have their faults,but mostly its the players who can be arsed to look things up for themselves or just trolling cus they cant play the game.
jesus Blizz has made it so easy,i just wish it was all back to vanilla days when you really had to work for what you got and not get it all handed on a plate which is happening now but the game itself is still great fun whatever you do,i like killing horde by the way
