FG Game Status and summary

The group discovered a half open door in the dormitory section of Grea Tower, home of the Diggers Union in Wroat (Capital of Breland). Entering the room they discovered the dead body of one Delvron Gaunt - a Cyran refugee, known for a bad temper and a drink problem.
Investigating the body they discovered words carved into his chest, probably - by the looks of things - done by his own hand. The words read: Aryth in Tiamat they come
In a pouch in the room they found a number of small stones which reflected light better than any of the mirrors they had seen. (judging by the cast though I'd say theyve not seen many mirrors ;-))
The Matron arrived, and examining the body pronounced the cause of death to be a nightmare spell. She mentioned hags used this particular spell regularly. She then pointed them at Delvrons patron and mentor which they then went to find.
They found him, finally, in the hall of messengers. getting cooperation from a different patron they overheard him talking to someone, after some sabre rattling, confusions over Helcedonte being a woman when so clearly he was a gnome they made him talk. He told them of his master - a professor at the Morgrave university and sent them on their way to find him.

heading to the home of professor Vevel they discover more references to Aryth in Tiamat they come - namely scrawled on a blackboard. Examing it they were confronted by the professor who proceeded to point them towards an Astrologist (Gaunt was hired to get a book from him) and a MirrorWright (Best in Breland he is).
But the Pc's were suspicious, forcing his hand (to use that shiny longsword) which he did - ably.
elnan took a full force blow which robbed him of some constitution, then the professor proceeded to use an array of magic against the group, finally putting most to sleep them fleeing in to the city.

Session #3
Following up a lead from the professors house the group set off for 5A King's Circle. It turned out to be the house of one Mayus Fellon and his charming (if a little eccentric - plate collecting) wife. Who regaled the party with stories, answered their questions and fed them tea and scones...
They didnt really get anywhere with her and were then a bit lost. However poking around taverns in the area they discovered that Mayus had a piece of land outside of the city which he had built some kind of Observatory.
The group arrived there as a strange storm brewed overhead which seemed to be centered on the tower itself. We left them getting ready to open a door into theground floor of the tower.
(yes it really took about 2.5 hours to actually RP through the tea and scones)

I think we'll need everyone for next session as a big fight may be brewing. One question I have is wether the casters have had a chance to re-memorize their spells or not, I'm thinking not which may mean we're a little stuffed....
Maybe next time I'll just blackjack the lady ala thief dark project style and we trash the place looking for stuff.....
Thursdays are a better evening for me (saturdays are ok too as I play tennis till 6 so that messes up any form of social life so net games are good then). Sundays are a bit hit and miss, although I think one coming is going to be ok too, I'm just not sure yet.

The way this adventure has gone I think our most powerful weapon next session will be a clear mind. I suspect it will have some combat but something else as well. The whole adventure has been a CSI episode

One thing ive been lenient on so far is Actions vs consequences. You got a taster when you openly spoke about offing the "professor".
You are in the captial of Breland. Think of it as a city say the size of medieval london. It has laws about murder, running around waving weapons in a threatening manner and generally wanting to 'off' or 'do' little old ladies without due cause....
As your finding your feet still i let these things slip but open aggression will start to see your alignements change ;-)

TBH Zed I think you've done a great job. Sure tea and scons took a long time, but it was interesting, and you roleplayed her well.
Although I was tempted to knock her out I didn't and I think everyone showed a lot of restraint around her. For all we know though she could be another shape changer with her husband folded up in a chest somewhere, I guess we'll never know. I still think there's something dodgy about her, but it may just be the way you played her (so good for you).
So far we've not really been running round the streets slaying everyone that looks remotely involved in the plot, but equally there has been some sabre rattling to open mouths. I don't think we've been over the top have we?
One thing we probably need to do is do 'OOC' in front of ooc comments so you know they are ooc, as a couple of times you executed an ooc comment at the time that I was just bouncing the idea off the guys.

There have been times your close to breaking laws though
you are forgetting on a number of occasions to roll Sense motive. its your friend.. really it is even though most of you are crap at it
i know ive been a bit intimidating to the people we speak to,i think we are playing the good cop/bad cop pretty well though
.to be honest im kind of out of my depth skill wise as a warrior ,theres only so much i can do interogation wise.i did roll sense motive a few times but with no modifiers on anything of use my only chance is if i get lucky.i could of power attacked her though.i still think i should have chopped her head off and have been done with it though.those scones were just too tasty for a mere mortal to make
sorry if that makes me sound ungrateful i didnt mean for it to come across that way.far from it infact i think your doing a great job zed and im really enjoying it.
