Gears of War PC

Well worth it, even if youve played it on 360.

Graphically much better (if you have a semi decent PC) and despite me being sceptical as the 360 controls were so good, it works even better with mouse/keyboard. Plus theres the additional content of course.

Bit of a pain to install and i had to use driver level setting to force v-sync on, but should be sorted in a patch.

And best of all.. im getting gamerscore achievements all over again and can boost my score even now that i dont have a 360..hahar!

Dead Again, I need a Rez
The additional content is what was ment to be there all alone it just got removed from the 360 cuz it couldnt handle the large areas. Well thats what i heard anyway

If that's the case you have to wonder why it's taken them so damn long to get it onto the PC, I can certainly believe they made multiplayer maps too large for the 360, more due to the low multi-player limits though than actual storage or processing grunt

I doubt it was the case that the 360 couldnt handle it, there are are a few large open areas in gears, like the courtyard battle at the start of Act 5 and some parts of the mines are huge.

Your opinion is worthless....
I installed this yesterday but it decided to crash 3 times to desktop, is this a known issue? using a 8800 nvidia 768mb card, updated the drivers and the likes.

looks nice for what I saw.

and my gamer tag is Ciar2001

Same here Git. Installed, but didn't give me the option for a desktop icon, then crashed every time I opened the options menu.

Med there is a fix for this when the game loading screen pops up hit home and it will bring up the xbox gamer tag thingy, fill in your details then you should also be able to enter the activation key and patch, saying that I did all this and it still crashed :/

so not overly sure what the score is and I am in no rush to play it so not that bothered at the moment.

I'm pretty sure without me saying anything, people already know that if you want to play a game on a console you just put the DVD in, and on a PC you feck around for a while then if lucky can play. It's personal choice, do you want to play the game you paid for or feck around with PC issues

To be fair GoW on the PC does sound like a right old mess. Seems like loads of people are complaining about bugs and general issues that stop it playing properly on the PC, the official forum apparentiently died after 8000+ complaints after the first day.
