Caught up on this weeks episode last night. I was so disappointed. I hated the storyline. So now Clara is going to become a fire eyed monster?

Rose Tyler was, by far,the best companion so far followed closely by Amy Pond. Im not a Clara fan.

Also next weeks looks pant. Can it get better? I hope it does.

I quite like Clara, she needs better storylines though. Hope she is not just there to keep the dads watching like some of the Companions of the past. I'm thinking the lump of wood that was Perry, who was little more than a plunging neckline, and bits of (albeit attractive) fluff like Nyssa.

I preferred Rose with Chris - when David took over their flirting got annoying.
Amy and Rory have been my favourite companisons of the new show by show way (unless you include Sally Sparrow!). I found Clara so much better in the two previous episodes she turned up in a died, I thought she'd be really good - but so far so dull.

Last Saturdays started ok, but soon devoided into a campy pile of rubbish as soon as the slug and the missile were revealed.
Neil Gaimen up next - not sure I like the idea of the kids travelling with the Doctor - but at least they may have more personality than default companion Clara.

Well that was immeasurable better!!!

Really? I thought it was pretty dire. Incoherient plot, awful child characters and actors (the girl was dreadful), weak ending AGAIN, Clara being a complete mess of a character AGAIN.

Matt Smiths dual role acting was the only thing that was worth watching in my opinion.

I got a bit lost!
John Hurt as the new/old doctor. Hmm hope the next lot are better.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed that last episode, not only did it tie up pretty well - it also though the amazing curveball of John Hurt as 'a' Doctor.

At a guess i'd say he's a regeneration that falls between Paul McGann and Chris Ecolstone (as we never saw that happen) also what it was he did probably influenced the Time War.

Still as a series overall it was weak, but at least in my opinion it went out on a high.

You should try googling the John Hurt doctor....tons of speculation, but the main suggestion seems to be that he is the 'real' 9th Doctor. As he wiped out millions to end the time war he went against what a Doctor stands for, so he isn't counted. One theory I suppose.

I liked this last episode, shame they were not all of as good a writing quality in the series.

That would make Matt Smith's regeneration the last one, as he'd be the 12th incarnation, not the 11th. So the next Doctor would be the last one, that might actually work.

Didn't they say that he has unlimited regen now? I seem to remember from one of the Ecclstone or early David Tennant episodes?

If i remember it correctly that was in an episode of Sarah Jane Adventures, Clyde ask Matt Smith's Doctor how many times can he regenerate, he replies something like 500 times.

This led to a lot of spectulation that the Doctor now had basically limitless regenerations. RTD later commented that the 13 regenerations was to firmly entrentched in the viewers mind to be ignored and that the comment shouldn't be taken to seriously, but that with the fall of the Timelord society the Doctor may have found a way to get around the limitation.

I'd take it that the Doctor isn't going to run out of lives any time soon... even if they have to write an episode to expain it away. DW is just worth to much money to BBC to drop anytime soon.

There's precedent too, in the Five Doctors, The Master was offered a full new set of regenerations in return for saving the doctor from the game of rassilon. Whether that still exists on Gallifrey would make for interesting fiction.
