I bought a pre-made bed, all I have to do at night is pull the cover over me when I get in bed. You on the other hand have purchase 3 tree's, 500 springs and some cotton, and when suddenly you get expelled from the bed, you spend the next 2 weeks trying to work out which spring was at fault, every night pushing the springs randomly hoping it works properly.

And I'm pretty sure my 360 is better hardware than my PC, if it's not it's coded for much better because things look better on the 360 and I didn't have to upgrade the RAM of that after a ton of finding out what kind of memory I needed

I don't see why people are still arguing about whether or not consoles or PCs are more convenient. It's obviously consoles, I haven't seen anyone here arguing otherwise.
A PC is a powerful tool which is highly customisable, and has many uses, one of which is games. A console is a toy. Yes, that's a condascending term to use, but that's what it is.

Oh, and if we're throwing anecdotal evidence around, my PC still plays all modern games fine without any upgrading or reconfiguring, and it's about 2 years old.

You also have to look at how much you spent on your PC compared to how much a 360 would cost you and if that would still be running launch titles okay (well to be fair by now it would probably have blown up and RROD, but MS replace it for free when it does that )

Why do you say that? It's clearly wrong, just going on the games I've talked about playing on these forums
Bioshock, Crysis, Farcry, Orange Box, CoD4, Sup Comm are just a small section of the games that run fine on my PC, and they're hardly low-spec games.

My PC was only about �100 more than an XBox, but I bought it second hand. Plus it's a PC, not a console. I just said they're incomparable, as they do different things. Until they release an XBox Live version of Visual Studio, you can't compare them like that.

I'm arguing about whatever tangent you go off on. My original argument was that Left 4 Dead isn't as good as it could be, but I just follow the flow of the thread.

You forgot the bit where you blamed that on consoles making stuff so easy people who have a job can complete them.

And you can do visual studio stuff on a development 360, infact that's how they make the games in the first place. Then they port it to the PC so you people that like PC have something to complain about

And I probably saved loads of money buying PC games and spending about �600 pounds every couple of years upgrading parts of my computer. Instead of buying console games that cost �40-50 a game.

Iv never buy a brand new computer I always upgrade parts at a time.

You only ever need to upgrade 3 things in a PC, CPU, GPU and Motherboard and normally you don't even need to upgrade the motherboard much.

Consoles games are normally alittle more expensive than PC games, but they are much easier to trade in so it works out about the same.
On the Mouse/Keyboard vs Game Controller debate, i'm sure the Mouse is more sensitive and more accurate but using a Game Controller is much more satisfying to shoot things, don't you think?

you missed out memory, PSU, processor (I think I'm still right in saying when building your own you buy a motherboard and a processor as seperate entities ?), cooling, case, HDD's, and that's not including software of a PC.

PC does much more, no debate there, but I think for gaming a console is a much easier choice and the price you pay on a game is worth it for the simplicity, and you can trade in but I still reckon you make more on e-bay than you ever will trading in (though games creators are now looking at ways of gimping trade-ins because they don't make money with it, so that could change one day, though I though that's what micro-transactions were all about ...)

Definately.. i find it hard to get any immersion using the same control system in a game that a i do to analyse stock trends at work all day.

OK, bad example, I should have known you'd nitpick. A *public* release of the XBox version then. Oh, and one for all the other programs PC users use. It's hard enough getting Vista versions, let alone XBox versions.

I couldn't respond either as I was playing Warhammer Online, which was better than queueing in WoW, which it sounds like the WoW people had to do :/

And the reason you trade games in is once you've finished them and got all the achievements you fancy there is no point keeping hold of it unless you really like it, trade it in (well I e-bay), get cash back, buy more new games, ..........., win

And having just thought about it there is another advantage of consoles, you don't get pestered by stood on them hehe

btw you can use gamepads in any Valve game on the PC, if you really want to.

And as for playing old games, something I really like I do keep hold of, but otherwise I simply fondly remember the old times and enjoy the new games. But if you reach nirvana and truly embrace "the console" and all that comes with it, you do find yourself driven by achievements, old games have no more achievements so are useless, it's only the new games that drive you. And for really old games you always have X-box arcade, and the PS3 and Wii's equivelant (so i could play N64 mario golf for example if I felt the urge). On the PC old games you still own (for example my still original Elite box), stands no chance at all of running on my machine now (not helped by the fact the disc is the wrong size, and my current PC doesn't even have a disc drive), so to play my old PC games I have to repurchase (like using that site you linked) or download them from someplace naughty anyway

And playing an FPS on the PC I wouldn't touch a gamepad, mouse+keyboard are much more natural to me, I just wanted to annoy stood
