Just brought the first series and finding it really dull and safe. To much soapy family drama (but that silly drama where no-one acts remotely sensible or realistic - with way to much overreaction). It's just another V Remake or Terra Nova at the minute.

I must echo Piper here and say that i find Breaking Bad, The Wire and Mad Men must-watches and i consider it telly at its best.

Currently i'm watching Copper which is a hint of deadwood with a smidge of CSI and a tiny little dash of shit. Might pick up though, only 5 episodes in so far.

edit - it may be best to point out to get most of this series in a similar way to deadwood you have to have access to a bowler hat, sipping whisky and a strong affection towards titties.

It's abit more laidback/light and erm well southern than those other shows, but it's enjoyable. The 1st series is decent but the 2nd and 3rd improve no end.

Janie i've been trying.. really have, i'm upto episode 8 of justified and another deadwood actor is trying his luck, can i skip to season 2 or do i have to watch them all?

The second and third series are more arc driven rather than the episodic nature of the first series, but if your not enjoying the first series - I doubt that alone will improve it dramatically for you.

Anyone seen 'America horror story' opinions if so....

Seen the first 4 of these and they were very good, but I kinda forgot about this series and couldn't be bothered to catch up. My better half reckins it got better and better as it went on.

but apparently you can grab the last 2 episodes and pretty much work out the entire season
