Some probably know but MW2 wont support dedicated servers. Amazon have reported massive pre order cancels (including mine!) and everyone will pirate it (including me!) since the SP is the only thing worth playing. At least there will be plenty of seeders!

Seriously though, fuck that. Worst move EVER for a very highly anticipated FPS

Why the hell people even support the idiotic move before this, I'll never know. The arse of a CEO comes along and says totally openly he's charging more for this simply because people will pay it, and people then reaffirm the arse by pre-ordering in droves meaning he's going to want to charge people more and more. Anyway this only affects the PC people, it's what console people are used to.

Another nail in the coffin for PC gamers, that and the fact the game has 3rd person camera as well. I hope the game is released full of bugs and bombs on every platform and people learn not to pay smarmy greasy CEO's extra for still what essentially is a minor upgrade to the old one.

Now that's off my chest time to goto the pub :)

You are having a laugh? best think about 1 was the Brillant multi play aspect, its took me off Battlefield 2142 stright away and i was all up for buying it on day of release just so i can crack on with it. now i will happly wait till christmas or torrent it as well.

that a bloody shame, and saddly yes its another issue wit PCs games dieing off.

Well I'm not so doom and gloom about PC games, but yes, this is bloody idiotic. Loved CoD4 to bits, but wont be pre-ordering now. Maybe they'll fix it with a later patch, but I wont hold my breath.

I think is what it stands for, basically supports huge FPS fun 128 vs. 128 with squads, team leaders, squad leaders, various weapons you can upgrade, skills you can buy with things you earn, vehicles (like tanks), jumping out of planes over an enemy position, etc, etc, etc.

PS3 only though, but when you pre-order it from play.com you get a beta invite, and I got mine the day after I pre-ordered.

Only down side is the times the server is up as it's a beta is limited, but the times I do get to play I've had a blast, even if I only seem to do well as a sniper, as a grunt I always seem to be one of the first to die, but respawn isn't a long wait and you can change your weapon loadout while waiting so you can keep busy, but respawn is done in waves so if you are faffing around with weapons and you miss the respawn, you need to wait for the next one (happened a couple of times for me but I didn't mind as I was getting used to the UI and weapon choices)

To summarise...

No dedicated servers, all games are hosted by players (which some ISPs may ban you for).
When a host leaves, there's a 5 second delay, then it randomly switches to the next person, you have no option to opt out of hosting.
No ability to mod or create customisable maps.
You can't kick people, because don't worry, they're going to ban all cheaters. *facepalm*
Max team size is 9.
Lean ability removed.
Can't record matches.

All that, and they claim that it isn't a direct console port, because you can use a mouse, and type in chat. WTF?
I really can't see me buying it now, which is a shame, as I loved the first one.

That tiny bit of guilt in me for torrenting vanished once they said 9 players. Im really stunned they actually think these things wouldn't be good.

I call bullshit on them claiming it was made for the PC first. Its a port over from the console.

we got dragon rising (me and my freinds that play lots of ps3 stuff coop and are getting pissed off with vegas's cheating), its not bad, but uh... we only had 1 day of playing that, and then i made the 'mistake' of showing them borderlands just before i went home.... and they've fallen in love with borderlands instead :p

Hahaha single player campaign is 4-5 hours long with some huge gaps in the storyline. Dont think im going to even bother torrenting this shit
