I agree Zeus, but I imagine they see it in fairly black and white terms, and I'd imagine piracy rates are a HUGE factor in that calculation, so while it's painful the PC users have kind of brought it on themselves. the 360 suffers with piracy as well, but MS are at least attempting to combat it with every large release (loved the quote from the idiot who likened losing access to LIVE as the death of his dog, what a nutter). And as far as I know piracy rates on the PS3 are either zero or so low as to not be a consideration (anyone actually know more on PS3 piracy rates ?)
It's not helped that this is by Activision who are pretty aggressive when looking at finances, to the point they were happy to lose x% of PC sales with the console skewed game with no dedicated servers. Look though at the HUGE sales figures and ask them if they are bothered by those lost sales, I doubt they give a monkeys.
The place PC's beat consoles is in MMO's because there you can't pirate the software and have to pay monthly, all other genre's I think will lean more and more to console's being the main development skew. Dunno, maybe this will make people realise that you can't take something for nothing, without some consequences, but I doubt it. But then that said I only really thought about that properly when I released my iPhone game and saw the piracy rates for myself

I understand PC gamers being disappointed with the MW2 setup but I really think that this is going to be the vogue for big console games. The companies are making the big bucks from the console community and are going to do a cheap port. I imagine they looked at the economics of MW1 in terms of the cost of extra development to take advantage of the PC versus the gain in revenue and potentially the extra time it took to get to market.
A lot of games companies are struggling or have shut down completely over the last few years because of the increased cost of making video games and therefore they have to make sure they can maximise the margins on games to ensure that a big development like MW2 will, at the very least, gain back its cost and then hopefully go on to make a big profit to fund future development projects.
So while its annoying, I think its going to go more and more that way. Lots of big titles will have their primary target as the 360 or PS3 with the PC being seen as something to make some extra cash out of as a straight 360 port. My solution to that is what its been for a while - own both a console and a PC.

I don't really see there being much difference between the mouse & keyboard or a controller. The mouse has the advantage on the aiming, but an analogue controller has the advantage on the movement side over a keyboard.

personal opinion but i am much quicker on a keyboard mouse than i am a controller.
