Yep paid race, did it myself lastnight from my draenai hunter to worgen.
We had our first class level 85 at 9am Tuesday morning, 10 hours after the game was released!!!
Again expansion is far too easy to level, but the game got a nice refereshing face lift which will easily last until Star Wars Old Republic goes live.

Crowd control is back and better late than never, i'd say. WotLK could of been a much better experience with crowd control.

If you have a character over 60 you should keep it. TBC leveling area was extremely boring once Lich King cameout, now both levelling area's for TBC and Lich King will be boring as the new content is out. If you have a character who has cleared some of that content you may wish to use him to get to the new stuff quicker, as well as have a new character to see the early zones again. The less time wasted in the previous expansions the better, as I don't think they will have changed much?
The idea of coming back and playing a character I've not seen or played in 3 years if the account thing is right (5 years for the higher chars I'd guess as the pop back 3 years ago lasted 4 months), and don't remember anything doesn't appeal at all I'd want a totally clean start with a new character who'd have some money (probably not much as I imagine any old stuff is worth nothing). If the old world revamp doesn't do it for me I'd just stop playing, no harm done.
It's the name I'd like to reuse more than anything, but not going to pay to rename one char to get it for another

The problem at the moment that I find with this release is the spawns (this might have a contributing factor of how players are already lvl 85). Players complained that when WotLK came out the spawns were far too slow, so this time round the mob spawn like guppies. This is especially noticable in places like the new underwater zone Vashj'ir, which is lovely by the way.
It just needs to be toned down alittle, but you can stand in one spot and mobs will spawn every 10 seconds, very easy and boring way to level grind though.
I am still in that mind set where I wont give up my T9 or 264 gear for lvl 80-81 greenies.

Pretty much what i did. I started a new account from fresh. I havent played since October, am tempted to go back for a month or so if i can get a copy of cataclysm.
eep, time to get on the phone buddy. I'll probably give this a stab over the next few months but not yet, bit busy with new job and just shifted hoose.. "again" troll druid maybe? Or Gobbo rogue.. one of those probably.

It's now 3 days after the launch of Cat & still waiting on the delivery of our 3 standard & 1 CE from Amazon, standard editions were posted 2nd Dec & CE was posted 6th & tracking on the CE says it arrived at the national distribution centre 7/12/10 12.30pm & has sat there ever since. Needless to say it is probably the last time I use Amazon for any time sensitive items again I wonder if I had gone with Play.com would I have my copies by now like the previous expansions. If I was synical I wonder if Blizzard have stopped companies sending copies out so early as they have their digital download service available for the first time @ over �5 more than price you can find online.
