Quote of the season competition

Hill-Wod has to be up for nomination with this little gem :

Hill-Wood said: "Why don't we want the American at our club? Call me old-fashioned, but we don't need his money and we don't want his sort.

"Our objective is keep Arsenal English, albeit with a lot of foreign players." he said from the Emirates stadium.

Massivemistake getting rid of Dein. The bloke is the best connected and most influential man in football. Isn't he presently heading up the G14 ?

Not a swipe at the Gunners btw; think they've played brilliantly last few matches and have been trying to be more direct, quite successfully. The comeback from 1-0 down to Bolton was massive; you Gunners must have been cacking your pants when that went in.

I feel it's the start of the steep slope to another Chelski tbh.

Even though we are a foreign team I feel up until this point we have done things in the right way and the top foreign players we do have are at the club because they love it. Lets face it, Fab could go anywhere for whatever amount he chose and a few of the others could get similar deals.

I'd rather we continued to battle for third and fourth every season and stayed as we were but thats not the nature of the beast now.

I think its the opposite mate. Didn't Dein want to work with the Yank, who wanted more spent on the squad, while Hill-Wood didn't ?

More madness from Lehmann yesterday. What a quality keeper, but, blimey, that was his sixth yellow card. Sami Hyypia went the whole season without a single yellow two years ago, but 6 yellows for a keeper is nuts.

The just after he got his yellow he squirted his water bottle at someone in the crowd; been a police complaint about it.

More comedy genius form Mad Jens :

I absolutely love Jens Lehman, a real legend. Its shame he's career is coming into its twilight.

I think Lehman is a prize cock - he's a decent shot stopper but his distribution of the ball is one of the poorest in the Prem (for Keepers) and he should be mature enough now to keep his cool instead of acting like a petulant child like he did this weekend (and most weekends actually).

I think Arsenal would be better off without him signing a new contract.

That 'legend' should've walked for what he did at the weekend, that was a deliberate elbow!

Footballers in general crack me up, deliberate or not that barely touched him.. Imagine rubgy players or even cricket players reacting like footballers do.. national service would sort them out.. fannys :)

Yeah, watching the Wasps v Northampton Heineken Cup semi yesterday, you don't see players rolling around on the floor. Ever. Even if they've just been poleaxed. The thing is, if you are seriously hurt, you tend to lie very fucking still indeed. Like Alan Smith when he broke his leg and dislocated his ankle. I didn't see him rolling around like a pansy clutching his leg but merely him turning green when he saw his foot was pointing at a 45 degree angle to his knee.

The majority of Premiership footballers are homogay and luff teh cock.

Heterosexual is straight. Homogay is a really gay version of gay.

Okay....

Imagine rubgy players or even cricket players reacting like footballers do..

Rugby players are to ugly to be vain about an elbow to an already pig ugly busted up face. Cricket is so corrupt that the matches are already fixed before the players take to the field, so there is no point play acting.

deliberate or not that barely touched him..

Doesn't matter, he looked where the player was and went for him. The rules don't say about contact they talk about "strikes or attempts to strike an opponent." He should've been off at that point, if a striker did the same to him he would have gone aboslutely ballistic! And the amount of time he jumps about as if someone has stepped on his foot when they haven't is ridiculous...

I dunno where this "Teh Arse should've spanked Spudz" came from that I keep hearing, they had the same number of shots on target as us. Having four times as many punts that aren't even goal bound doesn't mean you should win (although Whinger seems to think so!) Also everyone seems to be forgetting just how AWOL they were for most of the first half, Spurs were all over them for large parts of the first 45!

Also, both of those free kicks Arse scored from were bloody dodgy to say the least, dives is putting it mildly especially the first one. Still, once they are given you have to defend them which is something we blatantly didn't do. :(

Just to show I'm not just Goonah bashing, Fab did put some amazing passes together!

From an impartial point of view.. ie i dont like football as its been ruined and turned from a mans contact sport to a game played by poncy primadonnas and only having Match of the Day on coz my parents were down for the weekend and Dad wanted to watch it... Arsenal looked like they were unlucky with the amount of times they hit the woodwork and Spurs' equaliser was a speculative last kick of the game type of effort that 99 times out of 100 would have been in row F :D

Arsenal seem to be the most supported team on these boards, which means Spurs are one of the most hated - So i doubt you'll get much sympathy :p
