Leatherworking does not make bags, that's tailoring.

I got 135 Leatherworking/185 Skinning and still can't make a bag. Can make some pretty darn good armour though  !

I didn't say you could make bags with Leatherworking but, as Janie pointed out, you can via the quest reward she mentioned :p

skining yields leather that is used in tailoring recapies so is good to have both skills,

however u cant use the shreds of leather and turn them into leather pieces as a tailor so sell them.

and a side note on bags u can make upto 16 slot bags for others to use

TBH, I wouldn't go for tailoring just to get bags. They're not *that* hard to get, especially the standard ones. I've got a spare 6-slotter, and there're several people who can make them now.
However, if you use cloth armour, it might be worth it for that, as you'll be able to equip yourself and others a lot cheaper than trading.

I've gone for blacksmithing/mining, and it's working pretty well. Haven't been puttig that much time in leveling bsmith (only about 75 skill at level 14), but I can make close to the best equipment I can use for my level now. :)

[*Edit - 16-slot? OK, scratch that, go for tailoring, it's great, make me some. :D]

Aye Grayl is Mining/Blacksmith too, but have been struggling to find a consistent source of materials.

So What AF and bonuses does your chest armour have Rorschach? Grayl's wearing 175AF with +3 to Stamina and Strength at lvl 14, bought it off the AH as I didn't expect to be able to craft stuff like that for ages.

Scary, innitaru?
You can make bags using leatherworking Zer m8, need to do a quest in thunder bluff for the recipe. Needs 3 kodo leather though, and only 6 slot ones.

If you're in a clan, then having purely resource-gathering skills actually works fairly well. As long as there're other clan members who can use the raw materials, being a skinner/miner/herbalist is perfectly viable. Means you're less likely to come across a leetzor ore deposit/skinnable corpse/flower that you can't harvest. Can still make a fair amount of cash from good raw materials, and can get some of the crafters to make you the items you want to use/sell.
Got a couple of resourse gatherers in the clan I'm kicking around in atm, and seems to work quite well.

If you have an 'Enchanter' in the clan, feed them all your worthless 'Green' and above items...You can increase your Enchanting skill by Dis-enchanting items

Also if you're on a quest, to get x amount and don't realy have the time, you can usually buy the items from either the shops or Auction House (AH). Although you will have to weigh up the benefit gain vs the amount of money lost in buying the items.

If you have more than 1 character make sure they do different skills. You can always 'feed' your character from the other ones by using the mail system.

To transfer 'Gold' between characters, put something in the AH for a stupidly high price, then get your other character 'with the gold' and buy it.

Ah, I wish I still got skill raises off dis-enchanting. ;)

If you want to transfer gold between chars, just send it via mail. Transfering it via the AH is rather inefficient, as they charge a % commision (more the longer the auction's up). Mail is a flat rate charge of 30cp, afaik.

Aye 30 cp. Items take an hour to reach the person you send to, even if its on the same account as the sendee, money or just mail is immediate. 275 Enchanting and 292 Tailoring now on my Priest. Pretty much all the trade skills are very lucrative if you figure out what you can do with them. Just farming ore or skins is even more lucrative and a very good way to make a lot of money.

Enchanting is a pain to get trained past 225 skill; the trainer is in a lvl 40+ instance. You have to fight to the right spot then clear all the mobs in that spot to get the trainer to spawn. And yes disenchanting stops giving skill raises at about 50 skill.

Just to add the person you send items to can choose to return items and they are delivered immediately (at no cost), whether they are on the same account or not.

Does that mean you could use the mail system as an infinite storage area?

Send mail to an alt as COD with attached item.
Alt returns mail (presumably not paying the postage).
You then leave mail in your mailbox until you want the item.

Does that work? Is there a time or max number limit on the mails?

One is not Amused
If you look at a piece of mail or open it, then its there for 3 days . If you leave it unread then its there for 28 days.
So not unlimited but usefull non the less .

Don't know about the rest of you, but one of the first things I've found was to re-map the annoying shift+1, shift+2... keys to change hot key bars. Not only does this seem silly but after a couple of days my thumb really started to hurt.

So press escape and go into key bindings and make it alt+1.... etc.

Another thing for all those pet classes out there (maybe why I was getting cramp) to make your pet attack you need to issue a control+1 (something like that) to make the pet attack every time. Control is almost as bad as shift for me so it's macro time...

Press escape and make a macro, call it pet attack, and in the description type the command :
/script PetAttack();

on a blank line. Give it an icon, press ok, then drag it to the standard macro bar so you just press 2 (or something equally simple). You could also do something like:
/party I'm sending my pet to attack %t

As well if you want.
