Japan hardware sales for last week:

DS Lite: 111, 814 units
PSP: 66, 156 units
Wii: 57,972 units
PS3: 44,000 units
PS2: 15,364 units
Xbox 360: 3,379 units

PS3 sales double probably because of Gundam Musou. Wii drops a bit. The Japanese just don't like the 360 do they. PSP doing well on the back of Monster Hunter 2.

Must say I don't like the look of Mario Galaxy, though maybe it will grow on me. Warhawk I've never really been amazed by, just not my kinda game I think.

Ordered from my local Game today with VF5, Motorstorm and Resistance and cancelled my Argos order. Game are opening at 7am apparently and I'm too impatient to wait in for a delivery. :)

Expect to see the headline "Game in Broadstairs burned to the ground" if their promise of one on the 23rd turns sour.

Surprised about Mario Galaxy mate. Looks a big departure but I like the more puzzley element of it. Seems as though you spend a lot of time flying around though.

It's the flying bit I'm really not convinced about, too much like the "fly a plane to X going though all these loops on the way" I've done it in so, so many flying games it just feels a tired mechanic. I may well change my mind, and I know Talili will want it definately anyway so it's not like we won't have it and I won't try it but it doesn't do much for me.

I'm surprised you could still pre-order given all the news about it being the most pre-ordered thing ever, more so than the Wii. Worse case it may be a day of phoning up and driving around places

I think its the amount available mate. 200,000+ for the UK apparently which far outstrips the day one availablility of the Wii and 360 I believe. Probably the only good thing about the delay.

I'll wait and see what happens on the day, US launch numbers were quoted as really high, on the actual day I think they only actually met 1/3 of there launch figures.

There is now though one extra available, my boss had pre-ordered one, I told him about the backwards compatility (the whole reason he got it cos he didn't want to buy the whole library again) and gave him a link to some sites on it, 30 mins later he'd cancelled it, which has peeved his kids off but he says he'd now rather wait and see how compatibile it is as his main draw to the PS3 over the 360 was not having to buy all those games all over again.
