The campaign was alright. Nothing special. There were a few too many timed objective missions for my taste. I doubt i'll go back and replay it on brutal like I did with WoL.
Ladder games are fun if you are into competative stuff. I was in Platinum after a few hundred games a year or so back but after that I was only really playing the odd game after watching GSL. Not interested anymore. I still watch the GSL but i'm about a year behind in vods.
The arcade is the best part. Lots of interesting little games there. Mainly in the tower defence and tug of war categories but there are some little rpg's, moba style games and other random stuff appearing quite regularly. If I have a spare hour (or 2... or maybe even 3
) I usually get on and play some squadron tower defence, mineralz or physco mc's - the last stand.
I'm not sure how HoTS influences the arcade stuff, I imagine you can play all (or most) of the current stuff with WoL so the only reason to buy HoTS would be for the campaign and ladder.
