Zedanya and Hashashiyyin explored parts of Savage coast together. We learnt something intersting: dont try to duo a 149K health zone boss :)

Twas fun. More to come.

Zed, yup, was very good to team up, really can't believe the massive difference in speed to do stuff when accompanied by someone who brings DPS to the table!

Active
Escalation (which I have, for +agro and +30% damage for the party)
Matador (single target +agro, adds little over Escalation, I've gone for Stunning Swirl for AoE stun until I can eventually get Art of War for AoE stun, forced 5 second taunt and next 2 blows glance)
Crimson Theatre (this gives PBAoE +hate, got Mass Provocation instead for targeted AoE +hate to pull agro off squishies)
Brandish (which I have for +agro and +defense)
Pulling the Strings (as he suggested, and I agree, I opt for Karma for more defense instead)
Illusion (which I have for +evade)
Stoicism (not got but, at hideous cost, will go for Smoke and Mirrors instead for +evade)

Passive
Brandishing Support (which I have for +mitigation)
Intensity (which I have for +mitigation)
Inevitabilty (which I have for +evade)
Sixth Sense (not planning in taking yet but may do so - aiming instead for Forged in Fire at hideous AP cost but both are very similar Elite Passives that give healing)
Agitator (which I have for +agro)
Fuel to the Fire (not taking yet, got Turbulence instead for substantial +evade when using my primary resource builder)
Master of Illusion (which I have for +evade)

The core of the build is identical to what I'm already using, it's just he's favouring different utility and +hate that's not majorly different - other builds I looked at use the picks I've got/am going for. The big difference is Sixth Sense (an episodic minor heal), over Forged in Fire (a big heal of +40% of total health, when you drop below half health) and I can see the benefits of both.

Am faffing about but any additional picks now cost truly ghastly amounts of APs (they're outer tier Elite Active/Passive picks) so won't change any time soon!

Have any of you looked into the UI mods yet? Some of them sound quite interesting, especially the custom deck manager.

Really like the sound of this game but am I right in reading that it's close to 12 per month subscription?

yes monthly sub but expect F2p of some kind within the 12months i reckon

3 months is around 25 iirc or there abouts.

yeah its about 11/12 a month. Hopefully it'll come down, but eve is 10, and UO is still up there. I dunno, I don't see much problem in something being like, 2 or 3 more expensive than other stuff. Especially if it means faster improvements.

Also I have to say, I've played the game nonstop for 2 weeks now. A few quests are bugged, I've had a couple of crashes, but really, thats all. No lag problems, no logging in problems (error 37 anybody?), and generally, a problem free gaming experience. I've also read a few of the interviews with Ragnar (main designer guy) and they really have a CCP (eve online) feel about them, so hopefully the game will continue to go into its own direction and carry on doing something new. Some parts of the game are really refreshing in a MMO game, it reminds me of city of heroes in a few ways too.

Anyway, I'm blabbing, 12 isn't that bad, its only just 1 pint more than WoW :p

Haha, like the 1 pint comparison :)
Think I may pick up after payday and I'll keep an eye on what you lot are up to.

yeah, I'll be honest, its still rough around the edges, if you're expecting something that beats WoW, and other said AAA MMO's, I wouldn't say it does it just yet, but theres enough here at the moment for me to say I want to stick with it for the next few months at least.

Also, if you decide to pvp, be sure you can take the frustration. In pvp I have 5300 HP. I regularly see people that take me down with two hits. Best shot I can dish out is 310 damage. Biggest hit I have seen on myself was roughly 3000. It does not strike me as a game that is really suited for pvp. Most people just seem to use pvp as a way to boost their pve advancement a little bit.

the PvP in this requires something like the resilence from WoW in there. As players quite clearly don't have the HP pools that monsters do.

I'm already dropping mobs with 10-15k HP with alot of ease, the formulae do not change too much by the looks of things going into PvP, so yeah, they need some sort resistance mechanism to sort of the PvP balance. There's alot of butthurt and qq on the forums about this at the moment, so something should change soon I think.
