Turn 36 - Strangers in a strange place

[Zed]

You travel as quietly as possible down the corridor for 20ft before the corridor opens into a new room (Area 8 on map) A few broken and rotting wooden crates lie about the room. In the middle of the chamber, however, a heavily armored man with long silver hair sits next to what appears to be the dead body of another man, your light throwing away all chance of suprise. The armored warrior is covered in blood. Another man, this one totally encased in steel stands ready, a greatsword poised to swing. His armour also shows sign of recent battle, though not as much as the silver haired man.

The silver haired man climbs to his feet unsteadily, and raises his own greatsword.

"Friend or foe" a snarl through clenched teeth.

A quick glance around the room shows only two fighters.

 

[Kaerwek]

Belwar growls loudly and deep from his chest and bares his fangs and stares ferociously at the two warriors, with a tint of bloodthirst in his eyes... Until he smells the fresh, bloody meat of a raw man-steak on the floor. A paw is put forward, and another, and another, advancing to stand on his four legs beside Thak. Then Belwar licks widely about his mouth and starts slowly edging towards the fresh meat...

Caligula looks around with a slightly confused look on his face. Should he encourage the party to whup some ass, or actualyl help this inbred, armoud-clad idiot...

Risach, through the giref felt at the loss of a comrade, eyes the incoming monster with thinly veiled suspicion. Moving forward to protect his comrades, dieing and dead, blocking the salivating beast.

No sword is raised in anger, or sheathed in companionship.

 

[Medivac]

[Kaerwek]

Belwar the "Monster" (ooc: LOL!) takes another stride forward and growls at the swordfighter in front of him, daring him to step aside or suffer the consequences...

"for now? neither." jial says, readying his bow, so that the arrow is pointed at the warriors throat (ooc: aiming for a gap in the armour if at all possible, assuming i can at least aim for his mouth or eyes given this much time ) "Belwar, get back here. Lets not go causing more bloodshed here." jial says to the wolf "what happened here? did you not manage to down even one of your opponents?" he asks the silver haired man

 

[Kegs]

Thak eye's the stranger, getting the fact's for a fight if need be. "This one makes no move's to hurt us, but he is outnumbered" He grins.

 

[Kaerwek]

Belwar thumps at Thak's leg, and agrees with him just before pouting quickly at Jial.

(ooc: lol, what, why can't I have the appetite of a wolf... Bah, you ain't got me just yet, just wait... )

[Zed]

Before anyone can answer, swing swords or bite someone (;-)) the Silver haired man, resting slightly on the full plated man holds up a hand.

"Hold. I have searched each of their souls and none seem to be evil. Aceed you may show yourself now."

He paused a moment, "My name is Kalerecent, Champion of the church of Lothian whom am I addressing?"

 

[Aciiid]

Aceed moves from his strike position near the corridor and moves over to his companions, still a look of distrust in his eyes.

/ooc sheathes his rapier but his off hand dagger held taught along his wrist hidden.

Now the fighting is over he has a look around the room whilst keeping half an eye on the new arrivals.

 

[Kaerwek]

Belwar moves a little closer to the paladin and the corpse, and pauses only for a wee bit of a moment his hunt for an opportunity for a bit o' flesh to glance up at Kalerecent and growl in recognition, only to resume his slow advance, now circling around Kalerecent to get a proper bite...

(ooc: None seems to be evil, alright, that I can cope with, but one's definitely hungry. )

[Entropy]

"It's so gratifying to know that we've been vetted by you Kalerescent. We've been looking for you actually. Care to explain who the dead man is at your feet?"

 

[Guy]

Caligula wanders over to the dead man, and with a contemptuous look in his eye gives the corpse a poke with his foot.

"One less to worry about, then".

 

[Zeus]

(ooc: we've been looking for kalerecent? are we assuming he's the missing paladin, or were we actually told a name? i wasent around at the time and only skimmed the posts, so cant really remember.)

"OK, so none of us are evil. i knew *that* already. its you 3 i'm wondering about..." jial mutters, lowering his bow so its now pointed at the floor.

 

[Kegs]

"My Brother has a valid question Kalerecent" Thak states, still not at ease with seeing him stooped over a body.

 

[Chick]

*sheaths weapon*

"We are Holy paladins friend. If you were to open your hearts and minds you would see this as clear as day.

We met and fought a Quaan strike force through there *points to area*, removing many enemies from the field of battle, unfortunately we lost this monk, from whom i truly recomend you remove your foot, and Kalerecent here was badly injured. Do you believe that a single monk could cause this much devastation ?"

[ooc=Backing this up with diplomacy]
"You seem interested in my master, will you aid him whilst we talk further?"

 

[Guy]

'Disgusted' couldn't even begin to describe the twisted grimace on Caligula's face when he hears that it's paladin's we've encountered.

Turning to the group, hands on hips he categorically states that he's no intention of being within 800 miles of a Paladin.

"Bloody goody two shoes paladins. Digustin' creatures."

 

[Kegs]

Thak sigh's roll's his eyes heavenwards and sheaths Gutter. "Come on Caligula you've got to help him" seeing the Cleric go bright red and almost explode in temper he changes his approch. "He might have a flask of Spirits that he uses to keep the damp and chill out of his bones eh??" he grins at Caligula and winks.

 

[Zed]

Kalerecant continues the tale onwards.

"You say you were sent to look for me? who sent you? My protoge is correct. We fought something called the Quaan. However one escaped through the large blue doorway to where I know not. However i do know the door sealed itself behind that one.

This monk here, was my long time companion and scribe. He fought well, though he gave his life serving good. "

Kalerecant looks towards the slinking wolf, "Call your animal off. I would not see it sully the body of my friend. Where it to do so I would have no recourse except to execute it. The body, my friend is under my protection and that of the God Lothian.

Now, come, if you are not here to harm us let us share a meal and decide what to do next. I for one feel I should report back to the temple and tell the high priest that which has transpired here."

[OOC Consider 1 of your tasks 1.2 completed. Finding Kalerecant you now need to return to the surface. In fact technically you also have the answer to the second question - or at least a possible answer to the second task - how the black elf escaped. Did the Quaaan release it?]
