i have the book. They retain their Str 4. 
But, Fex's get a massive point hike and a decrease in the stat line.
So my crushing claw, spine bank, toxin sac'd CC Fex's are now 200pts each!!!!!!!!! - they loose mace tail etc
Feeder tendrils and Extended carapace has gone from troop choices. Adrrenal glands looks to give furious charge (so +1I + Str on the turn they assaulted)
A lot of the brood have feeder as an ability which conveys rage.

i'm not sure i like carni's as they are.
i'm a firm believer that they shouldve stayed as damned near unkillable CC battering rams - not as ridiculously powerful shootists, that can still take on a vehicle np in combat.
if a carnifix has a venom cannon and a barbed strangler then, imo, it should lose its high strength - much like a dreadnaught that takes guns instead of CC arms. doing otherwise means you might as well take dual twin linked devourers - your still a beast in close combat, but now you can make a mess at ranged too.
(this is based on last codex, as i've not seen this latest codex, though i suspect i'll see it used against my poor little blood angels this weekend)

Fex's cannot take barbed strangler and venom canon in the new codex if i read the entry correct (im not reading a full version just an abridged version) Pertty much the only thing they can swap their two scything talons for are twinlinked devourers (which seems to be a problem in itself as you can apparently get 36shots a round with 3 of them)
This means (if its true) i have a duff fex model which i need to redo now :-(

Anyone built a land raider lately? I just had a chap pay me to do a crusader for him and I have to say the model was very very well thought out, even the interior had all sorts of additional extras that really make the model, even the front ramps work OK!
That said I then took a look at the rules for the thing and discovered it is quite possibly the best land raider there is, you see S4 weapons get to fire for free every turn as they are classed as defensive, which happens to be both the large side guns, potentially a storm bolter and leaves you free to fire the asault cannons also, its quite bloody painful whilst the others have to slow down to really let rip.
Am I right? Or is there a better variant?

The LRC is pretty much the perfect assault vehicle to support Terminators or Assault Marines. The Land Raider Terminus Ultra is pretty much the perfect anti-tank sniper too.
If I was building one I'd magnetise the sponsons and weapons to allow me to swap them out.

WEll i have just got a LRC delivered from Ebay (�18)
What can i say:
1. Built badly :-( the gun turret atop has been fixed the wrong way round ;-))
2. Painted very badly. I gotta strip it down. Mind you it ultramarine anyway and im after Dark angels.
3. Clearly the front ramp has been broken so it doesnt work.
So sometimes you get lucky and other times you dont. The model is good for the money i paid just needs loads of TLC to fix it.

The model doesnt lend to magnets sadly (and you dont get enough of certain key parts, there is enough room in places to accomplish magnetising things though I have to admit, otherwise I would have done it!), besides it gives me an excuse to buy a couple more when funds permit or the conversion kits from forge world!
As for models from Ebay I just cant bring myself to trust someone elses skills, or lack of so giftsforgeeks it is

i need to build a crusader at some point - they're not very blood-angelly, but a crusader full of death company w/ jump packs.... oh yes.
the terminus is interesting for its anti-tank abilities, but it'll still have to be very lucky for a pair of them to stand up to a baneblade.
the... redeemer? with the flamers? sounds interesting, but i suspect LRs are just too slow to get into position to use them.

Yeah. Buying stuff from ebay means you get what your given. Ill likely end up buying a new crusader at some point then hocking one :0-)
I did get 3 basic dreadnaughts - that bar painting - are pretty much good to go, even have interchangeable arms.
The thing with ebay you never get all those little spares with the models so you lack the ability to seriously customise your troops if you so desire. And rightly so people dont always know how to put things together so they end up upside down, wrong, weapons incompabible with the troop type etc.
