Ok daft question - I'm on Act 2 atm, I got the viper amulet after going through the maggot lair to the altar bit and am now looking for the area with the staff. The only other area I can find is the lost farm, where I duly get murdered by a million rampaging cows. Am I missing something here?

go back to town, and use the Sewers entrance by the boat, flight posted a diagram link a page or so back that shows you where to go, basically that sewers entrance leads to everywhere you need to go in act 2, wish they'd done it in act 3 too, far too big still :p

The Lost Farm (Lost City in the vanilla game) is one of the uber areas for when you are stronger Crow; lots of nice item drops and good XP.

To get the Amulet you can either go past the Lost Farm or use the tunnel Cor suggested, to get ot the Viper Temple.

Link map of all areas here.

Really nice mod this, the tough as hell enemies are ok seeing as you get lots of nice drops :)
I love the re-spec of talents too.

Can't get Hamachi to work though, despite trying everything on the forums FAQ.

The item enhancement system is important to get into, particularly if you are moving into Hell difficulty (see Preparing for Hell on the Player Tips page also) - note Cow King no longer drops the D-Stones every kill, but Anya quest gives you a half dozen a time.

Dragon Stones are one part of this. Dragon Stones can be clicked to cyclically turn into a series of different item (D Stone, Spider's Silk, Forging Hammer, Tyranium Ore etc). These can be used to combine with any item (including runewords and uniques) to give additional stats. Each item can only have one stat enhacement but it can be done multiple times.

Go to this link (ES Cube Recipes) , which is worth bookmarking. Click on D-Stone at the top.

It's recommended that you use as many D-Stones as you can find to boost the 'Increase Max Life 4%' stat on each item.

i) you can do it many times on each item - you'll need a D-Stone for every additional 4%;
ii) its capped how many times you can do this eg if its capped at 60% you can do it 15 times - if you go beyond this it will eat the D-Stone);
iii) note that it also increases the level requirement on the item each time you repeat the process.

I used all the D-Stones I found and raised my life from 700 to 3k plus on a Sorc - its needed because mobs do hooj damage in Hell difficulty.

Apart from D-Stones there lots of other recipes to raise skills and stats at the above links.

Anyone know if you can kill the Cow King or not? Do you get barred from opening the portal like in vanilla D2 or can you keep doing it?

btw - guess they didn't want people running Baals minions - lol, not quite what I was expecting.

You can keep killing the Cow King Medi; you can't open the portal anymore but you have the waypoint there. Just make sure to get the waypoint before the first time you kill him.

OK, I'm being dumb - the waypoint is not in the jail levels right? Do you have to portal to the cow level then find the waypoint??

fOUND IT :)

Stopped playing this as getting so many unique items so quickly in the game just killed it stone dead for me. Also way to much cube business for my liking.

Picty's view on D3=Hellgate??

Well Picty have you tried this game yet?

Interested to see if this is the D3 I have been waiting for.

The beta didn't grab me too much I suppose.

A rabid D2 player's take would be good or even Picty's :D

LOL, I been out of action with hacked up right arm. Canny even play DII with lefty-mouse.

It looks suitably shiny, Flights a good bet to ask, he seems to have a reasonably analytical gaming mind. I am not a complex gamer, stopped playing FPS's when it got all team based *grin*.
Am kinda tempted but not sure :)

Ahh, just had a nosy, I like the idea that you don't have to pay a subby for it. Glad to see that's been thought about as I really don't spend anywhere near the same amount of time gaming as I used I grudge paying for something that I may only pick up once or twice a week and more likely only once or twice a fortnight.

Only problem I have is that I loathe and utterly despise Xp. Its a lardass bit of shite that hogs resources in some puerile delusion that I want shiny/cartoony buttons and other such crap. I don't mind the idea of progress when things actually work better rather than changing the names of stuff just to make it seem different.
Whoops, slight rant there. I can't even remember what pissed me off so much the last time I used an Xp pc, summat about right clicking *shrugs*

Hehe Picty, I crumbled and got it. It seems ok so far.

As for XP.....welcome to the 21st centuary oh and there is also Vista if you really want to upset yourself!

Don't get me started on that snooping obese pile of excrement!

:)

I hate Vista even more than Xp, almost enough to have to revert to full geekdom and learn Linux.
