Does a no-cd crack work with this mod? I do own legal copies of LOD and D2, but I think my LOD cd is probably in a storeroom at home somewhere rather than in London. Would be fun to play with everyone if no-cd cracks work..

The guys who have made ES are strong on anti hack and anti cheat. They've spent a lot of time stopping this sort of thing working. Having said that, I'm not sure if the particular hack in question would work or not.

Yeah, I think I read a previous post to that effect. Does the game just use the LOD cd to boot, or does it access it to load stuff when you're playing too? My housemate has his copy with him...

Only thing I know it definitely accesses is some of the between act stuff, but that will depend on your install.

I'd love to have a few Clan games. I'd recommend spending a few hours playing solo first; its a real enjoyable experience because its so different (yet so the same) as D2.

I haven't installed Hamachi yet.

Have it installed but not played over it yet. If a muppett like me can get it running first time it shouldn't be a problem for you lot. Think McChrist & Corwin may have tried it out. Might be an idea for tonight's clan game??

In the screenshots it looks like people have different icons for health and mana. Was just wondering why, and also if it's possible to increase the resolution past 800x600?

Yup, works fine over Hamachi, is pretty straightforward.
There's a config exe in the ES folder (can't remember the name of it) that has a couple of options in, one is to change the graphics of the health and mana balls.

I don't have much interest in LoD vanilla atm, but i can have a game of ES tonight if people want.

Cheers Tom. Is anyone kicking around now? I think I've installed Hamachi correctly and got this working on my housemate's computer, so up for a game if anyone's available...

I suppose most of the vanilla builds still work - excepting of course any that rely on a skill that has been replaced. The way they have implemented the toughness of play vs. the plentiful drops and methods of making/getting hefty itamz seems to mean that any build can be uber if you want it to be.

The best thing about the mod IMO, is the fact you can reassign stat points, skill points, and remove items from sockets, so you can play around to your heart's content without fear of gimping yourself later.

For example, I was DW frenzy on my barb, then got a big-ass 2-hander, so respecced WW, then when I got another nice 1-hand sword, went back to frenzy.

Ent - can't see you on Hamachi or MSN. Load one of them up, I'm around for 30 mins or so. ;)

Connected to you on Hamachi earlier Ent, couldnt connect to game, but opened a chat window with lobz - no reply.

Hi all just been reading about the ES mod for LoD and it looks very nice indeed,i can remember some very good mods for Diablo1,namely Retribution which i think was one of the best out there and which added more life to the original game for us all,i might just have a look at this one day,its still loaded on my comp but my chars have all expired now lol,anyway good luck all that play this mod :)
