Time to stop lurking and participate. I preordered mine and Play are still processing the payment, doubt I'll get it by Friday. That added to the fact my gf's dragging me to Tenerife on Saturday means I won't be able to play until you guys are uber high levels, but I'm really looking forward to this.

Unless I'm reading it wrong you can still be a guildy if you don't subscribe you just don't get to make one or have some guild tools, the differences don't really seem to add up to much though, might subscribe in the future if it becomes worth it, but right now doesn't to offer anything, maybe when they start adding new skills and stuff though

my intention was to subscribe for a month and see how it grabs me, think i'll still do that.
dunno when it'll arrive though - play rejected my credit card (kinda to be expected when i ordered it 2 years ago i guess), so thats delayed it a bit.

Actually, **** that. The robbing barstewards (UPS) charged me 21 quid, on a 30 quid order. 10 for Import VAT and 11 for brokerage Surcharges (W T F !! )

it's import duty not tax. pain in the bum, but they caught me on the phone last night when i was drunk.
robbing cnuts.

that games company are now on my shitlist.

Looking at HMRC you should pay 3.5% import duty and 17.5% VAT because it is DVD containing data/game.

So �6.30 if it was �30.

Those brokerage charges look ridiculously high I don't think the Post Office charges that much. Looking at their site they either charged you �11 for collecting/sending of the tax/duty or it was in their warehouse for 1 night.

Post Office charges are now �8 for import handling, which is flat fee so if your gonna import, import something big so you feel like you get value for money :)

Just spotted on HMRC that laptops/desktops do not attract import duty (they do attract VAT) and thus should not attract handling charges.

I haven't received my collectors edition from Gamestop it was shipped as International Economy, there was no UPS option when i ordered.

Don't seem to, it just lets you in with your beta acount.

Didn't they say something about bringing the beta servers back up before release so those beta players who couldn't get the game on time could get the names they want?

I think they transfer to the live servers on release.
