yeah, it's excellent...getting a legal copy in a couple of weeks when I get my new computer
The water effects are completely spectacular, so good that they almost detract from the realism of the rest of it, but the engine truly is brilliant. They've made some strange changes in places, but most of it works really well. Anyway, I'm not going to spoil any of it, but when you're making a new character choose your symbol carefully...quite a few are pretty restrictive at the high levels.

Got it...installed it...
Would like to say I love it but considering that it takes about 3 minutes for me to move the cursor 2 cms on the screen and 6 minutes for me to move 1 foot (im not exagerrating) i kinda think this will be a rather frustrating game for me to play.
I guess my Athlon 600 is nopt fast enough to run it ?
Gonna try to get a refund at the shop tomorrow

Played it for a bit now and its looking good so far.
Very open ended, you can go anywhere and do anything ala Daggerfall. What I am liking the most about it is the freedom of travel. You can really set off in any direction you like and explore the lands. There are a lot of interesting things to discover.
Character creation is very open ended and you can really create just about any character you like.
Bags of atmosphere with some good acting and the story seems quite good to so far.
Looks very lovely and runs fine on my Athlon 2100XP but wouldn't have it on my P3 550 so I'd be wary of the box specs.
All in all looking great so far but theres far to much game here to judge just yet.

on the point of system specs I dled it about a month a go, so I don't know if I've got a beta or anything but it ran fine on 1152/xxx res on my computer (P3 500, 512 meg, Geforce 256 Win 98 SE.)
The frame rate isn't great in towns and I've got to set draw distance to minimum, but it still looks very nice. I actually noticed that it didn't make much difference what res I ran it in before 1152...the fps was the same pretty much. Anyway, as a result the game looks excellent in dungeons (with about 20 fps), and pretty good in towns though a bit jolty and things tend to appear in front of you
Also, I remember reading on one of the boards a few weeks ago about an unofficial patch released that made it run reasonably smoothly in town on a P3 600, but otherwise with specs identical to mine, so that might be worth getting.
Anyway, I'm still going to buy a copy, so I might get it now rather than when I get my new computer to see if there's any difference in the versions...I wouldn't have thought a beta would have better fps than the final release would it? Anyway, hope that helps with people considering getting it.

nope, went into local game yesterday and picked it up off the shelf, he said they were selling them thursday as well, runs like a charm on my system, need to upgrade memory tho as i can tell when the swapfile gets a bit large, all the good things from daggerfall (Except my paladin guild with own house and boat ) plus loads more, enough to keep me happy for a few months i hope

Not had any trouble running the game, but I've noticed one or two daggerfall style bugs;
I got expelled from the fighters guild for trying to sleep on a bed in one of the guildhouses.
I got a 5 gold bounty from somewhere, but when I try to pay it off I have all my 'stolen' good confiscated.. which includes my armor and clothes which I bought..
And after apologising to the fighters guild (for sleeping too much?) Ive got a quest to get a code book from a woman in the thieves guild. When I get the quest the guild leader says she'll take responsibility. Since the thief refuses to talk to me about the book I kill her and take it from her, and get a 1k+ bounty on my head

Hmmm, not a lot on reflection. Do they have Macdonalds in the bigger towns then? I could get a job there and make more. Plus less wear and tear on boots, shields and not being dive bombed by those pesky cliff racers.

im well confused....
im a level 17 nord - stats are pretty high
for the hell of it - i went to dagoth ur - and i am fighting the big mean meany - and i think im winning - he said something about me not being prepared and needing some special weapons or something - but im kicking his ass and have not really done many quests - can i win like this?
