Glad I read your comment Zed before I clicked that link !

Thanks alot for that Zeus, one question though.

Saying that if you use Fearless you get for example 3 more wounds which can be saved, is that always save-able ? it's a pretty pointless question as saves are 6+ for me, but it all helps if I was about to lose another 3 models for example. I know you don't save if the enemy strength is double your toughness (think that's right), so would you still get to save if you were using fearless ?

Errr, as far as I'm aware you still get to save if your opponents str is double your toughness.
Only things that stop it (in close combat) are power weapons, and monstrous creatures. Granted though, the only things I can think of that would be str double an orks toughness are either monstrous creatures or using power weapons :p
you may be mixing it up with feel no pain, as that doesn't apply to instant death which str double toughness would cause.

The fearless wounds are generic wounds, regardless of what your fighting.

Ah I could be mixing things up, I just remember hitting some of Cad's marines with my powerklaw and I thought it was because str was double his toughness he didn't even get to save (which was the first time I'd seen him not get a save). Or was it because str was double toughness I didn't even have to roll to wound ... ?

And not that I'm indecisive but ...

Gonna try each one and see which one I enjoy, and get more of a feel for the orky wayz

Mmm... Power klaw is a power weapon, which prevents the armour save.
You should still roll to wound though, as a 1 is still a fail.

Yep, double or more is instant death... *if* you cause a wound. A str 9 ap 2 lascannon can still fail to wound a normal guardsman :(

Hmm need to read the book again, and infact maybe buy the big book so it's easier for me to read. May then e-bay the ickle book as I'm told it's useful to have a carry round copy, but not when I need a magnifying glass to read it :)

Hairier than thou
Buy the biggun chaps, far better reference than the aobr book, and its got better pictures! :p

Dont forget that there are some units with the 'eternal warrior' ability such as abadon that can not be insta killed too ;)

Gott, a few sites to check out as you're getting back into the hobby:

http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/
Mainly tournament players but a very good 'Glass Cabinet' painting section.

http://www.warseer.com/forums/
Usually extremely negative forums, but a great rumours section and a very active painting section.

http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/
Not bad, not great.

http://s11.invisionfree.com/Work_In_Progress/index.php?act=idx
Some really great scratch building and conversion work in there.

http://davetaylorminiatures.blogspot.com/
Dave used to work for GW and regularly had inventive kitbashed armies featured. His Custodes army is simply superb. Not sure if you can still find the pictures on-line anywhere.

http://www.coolminiornot.com/
Some of the worlds best miniature painters congregate on this site/forum. Fantastic site for inspiration and seeing what is actually possible, bit up it's own arse though.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/forums/list.page
Some really great paint/modelling logs in there.

Also check out Beasts of War's channel on YouTube and a bloke named Kanvass1 - great plasticard scratchbuilder.

Enjoy :)

Ta for those links Med.

Had another game and a bit on Saturday with Cad, got whooped again, and now trying to find a way to actual deal with the Tau XY thingies which can jump and have stealth armour. My Large 24 ork unit with warboss and one nob worked wonders though, advanced, charged with waaagggh (perhaps with hindsight they should have gone for the stealth suits), and wiped out that unit. Wasn't at all impressed with the Trukk, the unit that ends up coming out of it is just too easy to whittle down, maybe if I loaded it up with Megaboyz I'd feel different.

Couple of questions for the game and a-bit:
- If A unit of 6 is reduced to 1 with ranged fire, does he still get a leadership roll, and if he passes he stands his ground
- If I were to get some artillery, could I use that artillery to aim for example at the stealth suit units, even if on the 2d6*3 roll I couldn't see them ?
