Shock result at Anfield.

Also worth adding next time Arsenal and their Gremlin manager start whiny about teams being overly aggressive they should watch the second half of this weekends match vs Man Utd, where after being completely outplayed in the first half resulted in them just being typical dirty hacking diving scum.
Wenger didn't see that of course ;)

Fair play to Arsenal being more physical; a lot of teams kicked crap out of them last season. No excuse for Eboue, though. He's a disgrace to their team.

Still think the Mancs will win the Prem; just hope we can get 4th.

I am not surprised Liverpool lost, as a supporter for over 30 years this is the worst club (I think they have a good squad but rotation, Rafa, some bad players who play week in week out, lack of tactics, an overrated captain...) situation since Souness single handedly wrecked the club. The parallels between Houllier and Rafa are uncanny...I have heard from 2 pretty solid sources Rafa will go in the summer.

As for Arsenal, I have never seen such a disinterested performance by any top flight team, including Liverpool...

Your an easy target :) Every year you hyperbole about Liverpool and Rafa and they always fail (i even fell for it this year :( ).
Sad fact is Rafa is nothing special, he's wasted lots of money on several average players and some down right bad ones which has lead to Liverpool having a huge squad of players. His style of football isn't pleasing on the eye and probably most worringly is the fact no players ever improve under him, infact players actually seem to get worse while at Liverpool, Take Alonso who looked class at the beginning now he's been overtaken by Cesc and Artetta in terms of Spanish midfielders in the Prem. Babel one of the hottest young players in football is just being completely wasted as well.

:p

I tipped the Mancs for the title; what about you ? :D

I still disagree about Rafa. Hicks spent months undermining his authority; bad form on the pitch was inevitable. First months of the season we were playing brilliantly, so much so you were saying your prediction looked like a good one.

The season Ferguson was going to leave the Mancs they were in 11th place in December, 7 points behind us and we had a game in hand. Ferguson said it was because he was leaving and couldn't discipline his players properly. He decided to stay and their form changed dramatically.

Every single defender Rafa has bought is injured. Three of the four fit defenders we are playing are in shit form (including Carra) and Sami, while playing well, is past it. Not one of our present back four would get into any of the other top sides. we're playing 15 yards deeper because of their lack of pace and none of them can retain possession, pass it around or create play from the back.

Still we've conceded and scored the same as Chelsea. As for Alonso, he's had major injuries for much of this and last season.

I still believe in Rafa. It took Ferguson 8 years to win the title. For most of that time he had all his star players. It took Giggs and Cantona to transform them and thats all I think we are short - a winger and a partner for Torres (and fit defenders).

2CL Finals and 7 other Finals in 3 years isn't a bad return. Wenger has only won 7 trophies in 11 years, but is obviously one of the best managers we've ever seen.

I tipped Man Utd last season when certain posters claimed they were in decline ;)

I tipped Liverpool this season because I thought Arsenal wouldn't be as good as they are proving, Man Utd would struggle to get the best out of the Rooney Tevez frontline for a while (the 'for a while' didn't last that long) and Chelsea seemed a club in crisis. Liverpool seemed to have brought in quality (for once :p) with Babel and Torres but typically Rafa starts rotating and the team start to slide, then Rafa loses his number 1 assistant and since then they really have been awful.

What do you think your chances against Inter (managed by a former Leicester Player :) ) are? I think if Liverpool can score first they have a chance, they always play much better in Europe against the elite clubs for some reason.

you can't really compare to Chelski this year tbh, we have been average at best. All the Mourinho saga, a massive injury list (Drogba, Lamps, Terry, Carvalho and Cech at the same time) and then the african nations has taken it out of us. Sidwell and SWP as our central midfield says it all tbh.

Still all back and fit now, hopefully will finish strong and hold onto third.

As I said, all Rafas defenders have been injured for most of the season, as have half the midfield inlcuding Alonso who has had a series of major injuries and we've had South American players playing all over the world.

Rafa has been undermined by Hicks as much as Mourihno was by Abramovich. Until that happened and we picked up the defensive injuries, we were playing very well.

I'm more worried about the American owners than team form or winning anything. Hicks has a history of destroying managers and teams and delivering mediocrity. When he arrived he said we would match the Mancs in spending - since then we've spent 19mill net (well covered by winnings) so he has put zero into the team, while the Mancs have spent another 70mill in the same time.

I'm taking the long term view, sticking with Rafa and hoping against hope that the American c*** sells up. As an LFC supporter is a very bleak time, but, in my opinion, because of Hicks not Rafa.

I did say that and it was true. Totally different picture now, though. We all thought Ronaldo was a one trick pony with no end product back then, Nani and particularly Anderson look inspired signings and they have Tevez.

To say its been a good year for them would be a massive understatement.

With Nani and Anderson they have Giggs & Scholes long term replacements sorted, the fact they have come in straight away and looked so good only after a few months is pretty scary (Anderson needs to learn how to shoot though!). Wouldn't be surprised if they brought in a quality young Rightback in the summer, Neville seems on his last legs and Brown is only really a squad player. Offload Saha (always injuried, form to in and out) and get a quality targetman.

Liverpool on the other hand need a new manager ;)

I don't think there is much inspired about paying 17mil odd each for two of Portugal and Brazil's (?) most promising talents tbh mate.

Its the same as its always been. ManU in the last couple of seasons have bought their way past Chelsea and are now the dominant team once again. Maybe in the next few years Chelsea will buy their way past ManU again to win more trophies. It helps having a good manager of course but ultimately its all very hollow.

If they can get that visa for Manucho he looks like he could do the business, good height, fast and strong. He looked alright in the ACN as well.

Unproven in the Prem obviously but he has the right ingredients, just a bit old really at 24 ;)

Well he's not had the best of luck in signing midfielders in the past what with Veron heading a list of useless players from South America and Africa. I think every Man U fan gets a cold chill down their spine whenever Fergie brings someone into the team.

Carlos Q has the contacts in Portugal and Spain I think that made the recent buys possible.

Anderson does look as though he could turn into the dogs though.

2 in 2! Kuyt is flying now!

How awful were Inter! I would say the ref ruined the game with the sending off but Inter were awful with 11 men anyway. We didn't bother watching the second half I take it nothing much changed (other than the score) did they even manage a shot?

Amazing game at the Emirates tonight. Completely dominated Milan for most of the game and I can't believe we haven't scored. They looked like the old men they are against our young un's (comparitively) but I'm sure they will squeeze the life out of us at the San Siro.

Its a shame Eboue is such an arse because he is a very good player.

really? Eboue was shocking when i saw him at the emirates (Arsenal vs Newcastle (League)) and the arsenal fans around me were saying hes been that bad all season.
