wtf? The release dates on play & game now say 12th Feb, instead of the 5th Feb?
Game still has the collectors edition release set as 5th Feb, but standard set to 12th now???

Was going to pick this up for a look on 5th....not so sure now.

Just seems a rather ... odd thing to do on release, giving away free points or not, it's kind of setting a precident isn't it ?

Pegasus Belgar

Red Bull gives me wings!
Servers down until 3pm for an extra hour.

If you like space games and like Star Trek then you will like it, its not as Sand box as other online games and end game content is being added in a few weeks, which gives some time for casual gamers to get settled.

Levelling is or can be done very quick if you do the patrol missions and episode missions and you will level at a decent reasonable rate.

Corwin has made a channel for us which you can join called ClanUK, so far myself, Corwin and Dart have joined.

From what little I've played so far....I'm kicking myself for not pre-ordering!

Not everyone's cuppa, but as a trekkie and ultra casual MMO'er it fits the bill for me so far :)

Not played too much as I'm a bit pissed celebrating getting a new job

Is this game ever actually up?

I couldn't get on yesterday, I got on for half an hour this morning before they took the servers down and I can't get on again now.

My first impressions are that it's the least immersive game I've played for a number of years :)

well yes its setting a precident... but its a precident that they *want* to be set :p they want people used to buying things on the store. they dont want to end up like wow where every time they put something as payment only (like the pets where most of the money went to some charity, for example. or character transfer.) the forums erupt with 'omg its the start of a slippery slope, next thing you know you wont be able to equip a new epic from a raid until you've paid rl cash for it too!!!'

Some may well get too over-excited. But paying for a game you already pay monthly for could quite rightly be taken as a little cheeky. Free to play games with paid content I totally understand. Eliminate on the iPhone is a great example of a free game which makes it's money from additonal paid content. In the same way I don't argue at DLC which adds to a console game (for example new tracks in a driving game), but don't like the kind of DLC that came with RE5 which simply unlocked something already finished in the game.

The main advantage that I can see of DLC on a console is they continue to make money from second hand games, so I do cut them a little slack, but there is no such excuse on an MMO.

Doesn't really matter, just thought it stood out as the first MMO I was aware of that had done this at launch.

They seem to have 2 hours downtimes during primetime for us :( But never had a problem in the evenings yet.
So far its exactly my sort of game, very trekky, potential to play for very short times and still do things, not too much reading up on things (outside the game) needed yet!
I'll try and find ya Corwin for an invite tonight

One big gripe I have:

I'm playing it with a mate, and when one interacts with the npc, you both get the popup, if I'm fighting or trying to track down a glowy it can be very annoying, however, if I just click through the dialog then it also skips it for my mate who's trying to read it ...

also, for ground combat, we have been "sticking to type" - with my mate, science officer, bringing the doctor, and me the tactical guy, bring two tactical officers ...

sounds like a good team doesn't it?

well, his medic only heals him - has to force cast her on me or my boffs - which is a royal pain as we seem to take most of the beating.

seems that ground combat has only been designed for either a full boff setup with a captain solo, or a full 5 man captain party, nothing inbetween.
