pre-order console and copy of zelda confirmed - picking it up at 7am when the store opens.
Also ordered Wii Play which comes with a Nunchuk (only �5 price difference) to avoid that problem m8.

Also local game had a Wii demo pod today - went in at lunchtime to see a lonely hot chick watching and then sparked up an interesting conversation (2 player hot zelda session agreed).

Is this a thing to come I wonder

The one reason I've been losing my Nintendo fanboyism for a while now is the way we are treated in the UK.

Shit loads of consoles for the Australian release, some European countries have stacks on sale off the shelf (Switzerland) and we only get part of the shippment promised (according to a couple of big retailers so far).

What was the display like in the shops for those who collected them?

My local Game and a couple of other shops had the display no where near the front of the store. Fair enough they had sold out but the 360 stuff pretty much has been stuck at the front of these stores from day one even when the 360 was like gold dust.

Seems retailers over here still don't take Nintendo seriously after the N64 and GC.

Nearly all retailers got exactly the numbers they were told to expect from Ninty. One of the problems is some of them started taking pre orders and were over quota before they even heard how many were going to be in their initial shipment! One thing that is a let down though is the Virtual Console games, a load of them are running letterboxed @ 50hz on PAL machines!

I expect I'll end up with one here in the end, but I have a stack of 360 and PS2 games to play so I'll wait until the frenzy has died down.
