OK. Just looked in to that and apparently some of the planes that should be standard in this sort of game -basic stuff like the Airco D.H.2 and some of the Neuports, E.III Fokker Eindecker etc you have to buy separately. That seems a bit of a rip off to me after you have already shelled out 33 quid to buy the game.

Yes that is their business model, same as World of Tanks making you buy credits for premium, Platoons, gold tanks etc, no real difference. Aimed at the simulation market with online flying it is very realistic and suppasses IL2 in flight model. And as I guessed you have a sense of interest in history thought it might interest you.
It is now free to fly with the basic package unlimited demo, though does need a decent gaming pc to get the full potential out of it, added with TrackIR for extra realism.

the D.H.2 pusher has always been one of my favourites.

Ah I didnt realise you could play for free - just saw the "to buy" version on play. It does look very good, I am after that " flying a lawnmower by the seat of your pants" feel that KotS had. is this the IL2 that you refer to?

Yes that the one. And yes RoF will certainly gives you that seat of your pants feel, it is extremely realistic.

I suspect with WoP we will start off with planes like the Gloster Gladiator, Hawker Hind as starters for RAF.

Changed route on the USA line, from lights - mediums for the easy8 sherman, to M2 medium for optional TDs, mediums or heavys.

Playing a M2 medium and dreading the M3 Lee next.

Yeah, but you can sell off old tanks and modules you don't need at the Depot options.

Don't forget to strip off the upgrades from the old tanks first before you sell them, as alot of the upgrades can be used on new tanks.
