I got shafted by dixons
Orderd in sept and site confirmed my credit card (no etc) then about a month later bank sent me new card,same number dif expire date cos was a pin card.Updated the site but didnt reconfirm my card.Checked site last tue and it said credit querry posted at 4.35 pm phone between 9 and 5 ,no email only saw by checking myself.So couldent ring till next day at 12 turns outs they rang my house at 11.30ish,seems i lost out in the space of half an hour the bastards why didnt they ring tue.
Still glad i didnt order with GAME turns out from the boards they sold some canceld premium systems over the counter today,so nice of them to do that rather than pass them on to the other people theve got waiting on preoders

There will be more in stock before x-mas, MS Just want to play up the fact there "really popular" and "so hard to get hold of" to increase the hype a little. I'll get a 360 some time next year though mainly cos I want to see just what the PS3 can offer but the x-box live system is what really sells the x-box to me so be interesting to see is the PS3 tries something similar.
And what's your impressions so far SS ? And have you tried the arcade games (they are also worth "gamer points")

Kameo is decidedly average, like most of the launch titles, mate. PGR is well worth getting and Oblivion is worth waiting for (out in March I think). Our own Saint's Row is looking pretty decent, but for the most part the first batch of titles are okish.
Aye it's Gottaa, and I've not really been impressed with PGR stuff, and always have more fun with Gran Turismo which always seems a little more realistic and less arcadey.
That's another reason I'm waiting for more info on the PS3, if Gran Turismo (which just has to be a launch title for it really) is there with good (like x-box live style) online play that's what I'll get. But then I might just wait even longer and get a revolution to see what wierd thins Nintendo do with the controller

Well I have been really impressed with it so far.
Got it pumping out at 1080dpi in HD and via 5.1 and PGR and COD2 look/sound awesome.
Not really a racing fan but enjoying PGR3, the live integration aspects are really clever.
Played a little Gauntlet via the Marketplace and will try some of the others. For �10 I will probably buy it just to group up with others online.
Overall, impressed. I going to be a while for the PS3 and I have never really liked Playstations (apart from the PSP) for some reason so I am good.
Anyone wanna buy a crystal Xbox and a Sony DVD-Player/Recorder

Yea mainly want a 360 for the live stuff,racing games etc heard pgr3 is piss easy in the solo player.Though there arnt that many games for it yet,well looks like only 3 worth having pgr3 pdz and cod (though only 8 players online sucks). Since ive never had the xbox or ps2 id be able to buy a few old xbox games off ebay like halo and forza to keep me going,yes i could buy a 2nd hand xbox but then id be tempted into a modded one and assume one with a 100s of games on a hard drive wont play online.Rather buy a 2nd hand ps2 just for gran turismo,then again id be thinking no get a psp and wait for the portable version.
Talking of which its come to something when i now trust SONY less than Microsoft nowadays,giga packs anyone hidden spyware on music cds etc.Given that europe is allways shafted by sony im waiting till i hear confirmation on the rumour about no region coding,then ill stop beliving euro wont get the ps3 untill 2007.

Forza I played is similar to GT, it has more realism infact (I often blew the exhaust off and twice had flats on old tires). The track design though I found lacking compared to GT, and when the DVD drive on the x-box was playing up I ended up getting a refund on it as it wasn't playing at the time and when I got the x-box back I changed to a newer driving game with ragdoll physics for the driver (some fun sub-games) which name I think is "Crashed"
Double check on the 360 compatibility list as well it isn't 100% backwards compatabile with the old x-box. Most well known titles do work though.
Also for more GT style stuff I'd recommend TOCA Racing Driver, it's a complete pain at the start, all feels very twichy and you really need to use the other analogue stick for revs/brakes rather than the shoulder buttons but once to get the hang of it it really is a very good game, ice racing with 16 people is all I'm any cop at now (cos not seeing the corners coming up almost seems an advantage with the ice racing).

Although my TV is a big ass 36" CRT it's not HD and I'm not upgrading anytime soon. I could use the 360 on my new tft monitor but then it would be on my desk and the thing about consoles is you can play them on the comfey sofa of d3wm so I can't be bothered with that.
Doesn't seem much point in getting one if I'm not HD..... and there is also the fact that I've only used my original xbox about 20 times since I bought it.....
The games I've seen do look impressive and smooth but no better than my PC so I'll just stick with that for now.

Ohhh that reminds me can someone who's had live for over a year tell me what the annual cost is and what is says on the bill ? (i.e "Microsoft Live" or something maybe ?)
I'm looking at moving my current account to myxbox.com so if/when I get a 360 it'll have all the new funky stuff but can't remember what CC it went on and the only way to find the account or identify it seems to be with the last 4 digits of the credit card so I'm trying to track down which card so I can set it up.
My x-box unlugged at the mo as we are re-arranging and tidying the spare room, should be back on-line next week with it though
